What's your favorite genre? I know we can only choose one from the poll so choose your top favorite. You can list others if you want.

Just keep in mind that all genre's listed are as single AND multiplayer as one. Also that I did list horror and survival separate, There are both separate so I figured I would.
I hope I got them all. Hybrid genre's don't count.

Kinda split between Isometric ARPG's (Diablo, Victor Vran, or anything dungeoncrawler-ish)/regular RPG's, Coop (Borderlands), and well done OpenWorld/Sandbox games (Minecraft, Subnautica, Skyrim, Don't Starve, Terraria)...

Missing Sports, Walking Simulator, Card Game, Point-and-click, Strategy, Platformer, Management, ...
It's almost as hard as listing all game settings/locations.

Sorry. I was trying to get as many as I can think of. I knew I forgot sports after I posted. Was kicking myself for that too.

What about Turn-Based Strategies? :P

I dunno... I like all genres that have good gameplay or appealing stories in them equally!
I guess it'd be easier to list what I tend to not like: Adventure (aka, Hidden Object and Telltale's stuff), MMOs, "Survival" and Simulators.
May as well say that everything else is my favourite (but I'll go with FPS for the poll since shredding monsters apart with a big gun is always fun). :D

It's technically not a Genre, but it is the Category I play the most.
Open World Games such as the Just Cause series, Grand Theft Auto series, Borderlands series (technically not Open World), Elder Scrolls series, Saints Row series, etc.

Lol.

Hybrid genre's don't count.

Why? They generally produce the best games.

Also, uh, Science Fiction is not a genre. I have no clue why you'd think it is.

Also, you missed every type of strategy game. (No, RTS doesn't count, that's an action-tactics-metastrategy hybrid)

You also missed adventure, hidden object, stealth, platformer and generic action / arcade / casual action.

Anyway, to answer the question, that would be Grand Strategy or Management or City Builder. Too close to pick just one.

I'll have to go with Turn Based Tactics.
Ever since Final Fantasy Tactics Advance I'm looking for a similar game (there's always something not satisfying enough in other games) and I've come to enjoy quite a bit of games with this kind of genre.

Right after that I'd go with Metroid-vanias. I loved every Metroid game out there (yes, even the original Metroid, I loved it in frustration) before Federation Force and recently got Ori and the blind forest.

Two very different genres that I love with almost the same intensity

Point & Click (which is missing for some reason) and FPS. I assume RPG as well, but I still haven't played enough of those to mention it.

I like em all but I find myself playing FPS and RPG the most, the least favorite would be racing and survival games... no reason why, just preference I guess.
