Can I trust Steam security? (If you want to scan after installation, choose “No”.)
Thanks for posting! Hopefully this thread will help if someone has it installed.
I've shared the article in my feed for awareness.

This sucks so much, since it happened before on demo's as well I get more and more scared to install them unless I see a lot of people talking about it since then I assume someone would have noticed, but even then it can be dangerous. You would assume that Steam would really scan stuff better to protect us...

It sounds like it was a hacker not the studio that put the malware in the game...
If steam isn't catching this, then even popular games with good word of mouth could have malware inserted into their next update.

In fact, this is the third time this has happened on Steam this year alone.
There's nothing more terrifying than the tip of the iceberg.
Speaking of which, one of the recent suspicious tactics involves securing the domains of online games that have ceased service or game developers that have gone bankrupt in East Asia, then pretending to distribute them for free, or even turning them into online casinos...

[Create a short story from a random thought that popped into my headplate]
If I were a power-hungry hacker hired by the government, I'd pressure organizations to make operations difficult through “language hunting.”
Then, I'd buy out companies whose value has dropped under the pretense of “saving the company by selling rights cheaply” and implant various things into them.
Before long, it wouldn't be surprising if, right before conflicts break out around the world, some game company were suddenly acquired, or if an update were secretly implanted with something strange, and before you know it, you're appointed as the public relations officer for the country that started the war.
...Wait, Steam or itch? No, no, those are still a long way off.
There are plenty of companies in the East that handle content vulnerable to pressure on speech and expression, even if they're profitable.
It's a cliché, isn't it? I couldn't even write a cheap novel.🙄📝👽️

🦠💻️🦟 ヾ(・Θ・` )Oh.. No..
At this time, it has been removed from the Steam store, but if you have it in your library, be aware that you may be able to install it.
If we receive a response from Steam or the distributing game company, we will add the article. It seems.
I'll close this article in about three days to meet the GA deadline.
