So why not allow people to see all steam games in the create a giveaway section to avoid confusion about giveaways like with MyLands Dlc where tons of people were making them but picked a random dlc. And steamgifts then can choose if it will allow free games to be given away but without being given CV or making it so it shows the game but says something like "Sorry the game your trying to create a giveaway for was previously free and we don't allow free games to be given away".

yes, it´s a recuring suggesting...as said many times, this would reduce, not all but many, wrong giveaways with DLCs or similar titles, and also answer the many "why can´t i give...."-questions

maybe you make your "or .".section bold and bigger, cause i guess 70% of the readers here just stop reading after the first half

Steamgifts mods/admins have said they aren't going to do 0 CV giveaways for free games because of server load, extra support tickets, etc. I do think it would save a lot of hassle if free games were displayed in the list when making giveaways but with a note explaining why a giveaway can't be made. But I have seen it suggested many times before - maybe it will happen one day.

Theoretically, it shouldn't be too hard to do a check once a game is selected, and then add a 'This game has previously been free and is invalid for giveaways.' message below the game selection box.

It's irrational to think that the average user would have a good grasp on every freely available game out there, or to assume that every once-free game posted was obtained through free means [and thus is a 'scammy' offering].

Far better to be straightforward about it, that way there's no doubt when someone is being deliberate versus making a mistake.

Also saves a lot of stress and effort for everyone involved.
