Some of us use hide giveway option to manage stuff we own but is not recognised. As such option to disable join button for these giveaways on our hidden list would be nice. Specially with private giveaways. But also when following links in general...

Would be nice to have, I have to hide a lot of DLCs manually when I already own them. Not being able to accidentally enter one when I forget that I already own it would be nice

Not meaning this to undermine the suggestion in any way, but just a reminder that cg did add the icons from the giveaway listings to the individual giveaway pages, so if you make a habit of glancing up at them (to see whether the <hide> icon is showing or not), you can still check against what you have hidden. Multiple scripts also already block out the join button for games owned on Steam, so long as you're logged into Steam community within that browser. Just, if you're looking for any alternative methods to approach the matter with in the meantime.

If disabling the button isn't an option I'd also take a more obvious indication that I hid that game/DLC, the current eye thingy is easy to miss, specially its absence.

A more intuitive design would to make that clearer on the Enter Giveaway button, like changing its color.

Maybe CG can add this so for example when you own the game, the enter button is replaced with a previously owned button that you cannot click. In the above case mentioned by the OP, the enter button can be replaced with a hidden game/dlc button so you cannot enter it.

EDIT: looks like at46 has an option already available to us .

I hide every game I am not interested in and I always have to look for the missing eye symbol to know if a game is hidden when going through trains. I don't mind if the button still works to enter, but it would be nice if the button changed to a different color and said something about the game being on my list of hidden games.

+1
I agree, it would be better to disable the "Enter giveaway" button or at least change its color for all hidden giveaways.
