Sure there are more people that had this happen to them. Report the giveaway and move on, that's all you can do.

If there's no solution and the winner doesn't provide you a copy that isn't region-locked, just mark as "not received." I don't think there isn't much you can do apart from that.

On a related note:

I just saw one that ended about 12 hours ago that was a re-gift but I was waiting for it to be marked as received before reporting it (this way the giveaway creator loses the key prior to getting suspended).

Whatever you do, don't mark it unreceived until 7 days after the giveaway ended. They have - as per the rules - 7 days to give you your win. Is the key perhaps a key from that Polish gaming magazine, umm, CD Action?

If you're a German, Polish or Russian, there is a separate version for your region.

I think it might have DE, PL or RU in the title when you try to activate the key if it's not ROW.

Depends what the region lock is. Sometimes it's not the gifter's fault, rather the publisher employing silly restrictions.

I couldn't activate Final Fantasy VIII. It came as a Humble key, so it wasn't the gifter was using sketchy Russian prices. Not the gifter's fault. I agreed to a re-roll and someone else was able to activate it. No big deal.

Won OMD2, key was region locked, contacted gifter about it, never replied, 7 days later checked as not received, gifter never came back to SG.
