Where's the puzzle? I'm puzzled.

Abuse of rep system can and will get you suspended or banned. Just because someone did something nice for you doesn't mean other people should rep; if we take your word for it, he could be a scammer with a buddy (or, heck, he could have compromised your account). I'm glad you got a good deal, but the system isn't designed for this sort of thing.
