Depends, i was, in my first account, VAC Banned only for playing, i had too much ping because i had a worse internet, so suddenly i was VAC Banned with no reason. Contacted with Steam Support, but "VAC Ban policy it's strict with the cheaters", but i didn't used anything... a shame, really.

Counter-Strike Source but i was banned on all Source Multiplayer games, like HL2:DM, Half Life Source Deathmatch, Day of Defeat Source...
And the last stupid thing, it's just you can't prove anything, it's so simple, VAC Banned, for Valve, mean cheater, and no matters for what time you will send Support Tickets, nobody can delete this ban, i needed to create a new account to play CS:S one more time...

Yeah that's right, I play over 3000 hours on css in all the mods and maps and never be ban for high ping even if i play on russian server or if i just dl too much
You can't be ban for that, that's just impossible
The only way to be ban is to cheat or by mistake with some skin that you add in game...

Skins won't get you banned. Unless you have an autoexe that changes core .dll which is very unlikely.

Well if they didn't allow vac banned accounts people would just make new steam accounts and emails. Plus if they didn't allow vac banned accounts I probably would have not given out 3 copies of doom 2. Not all vac banned people are bad sometimes they just make dumb mistakes.

i find it a bit surprising that the site allows people who are vac banned to join here , what go you guys think ? should people who have been vac banned for hacking in games online should be allowed be here ? they are usually banned in most places.
two things are commonly noticed when a vac ban profile is looked at
1) the account was either stolen and then hacks was used to make it get banned
2) the person is a cheapskate who hacks online to ruin other people's game
