Hello everybody.
Earlier today I was playing with a friend and my mic was functioning properly and everything and then I had to leave the game to grab something to eat and then when I came back the mic isn't working, went on discord to test the mic and the bar went up and down as I talked but I couldn't hear myself and when I was talking to my friend it didn't even register as me speaking as the circle around my pic wasn't lightning up as it had before.
Do you have any ideas of what it could be? Appreciate your help

After a lot of uninstalling discord and realtek and all of that I finally got the mic to work. At first it came out low and I could barely hear myself but now I´ve finally got it right and is now working as it should

It might be upside down or not

If done correctly I still have two more keys don´t know what the game is but I have them on a text pad stored for situations like these, Thank you all for your help

Give it some books.

You probably meant something else rather than books but I guess knowledge is always appreciated and the mic can benefit from that and perhaps learn how to be louder xD

Next time you try to test things, give your cord or the mic a jiggle. It's possible to internally sever cords with enough repeated coiling and wrapping motions.

Side note: This can also happen to people. It's pretty freaky.

If it happens to people, should you give them a jiggle too ?

You can, but internal decapitation is fatal almost instantly. At least, every time I've seen it the patient was already dead and had been presumably jostled during transport with no noticeable improvement to their condition.

I've never seen any other kind of internal spinal trauma that actually severs the cord with no external source. I'm sure they happen, but I've never seen it.

I have been extremely cautious with the cord and the foam and everything as it is brand new.
Virus could be a possibility but I find it hard to be because the virus chose a good time to strike when I was out and they tend to strike when you are on the computer xD. It was like a matter of 1 hour when everything was fine and then when I came back to play some more the mic just wasn´t the same

Reinstall the driver if it has one.
Check the sound and audio settings in your OS to make sure the connections are good.
Try using other applications to check if it isn't working properly with Discord only.

Is it only discord, or does all of the audio on your pc malfunction?

For my dumber mic it works to BLOW IT very hard. Since it gets sort of "load" while it is placed on the desk o_O (you can notice it on Audacity - while recording microphone).
Beside that, I need to re-insert the plug and/or external audio card (the jacks from PC don't work, so I have USB shit to make it work).

I use headset with double jack.
But I have many distortion sounds, so I need to plug my webcam and use mic there.

I used to use standalone microphone 10 years ago for CS 1.6

1) Does it only dont work in discord or everywhere (you can try some program for recording).
2) You should check setting in discord (you can set what will be source of sound etc).
3) You can check in windows what is a default recording device (if it is set to your mic) and if it is on 100%.
4) Reinstall soundcard drivers and mic drivers (if your mic uses separate drivers, usually it does not).
5) Restart PC, reconnect mic etc (but i guess you did it already)
6) Borrow/check different mic if it will work (maybe your is damaged - or cord is damaged.
7) if you have some regulators on your cord (sometimes there are some regulations for volume of sound etc) in your headphone/mic check if it is on/loud
