You think they will return?
It was good while it exists, although I didn't get too much offers, so I didn't have too much chance to get a lots of games. There were some guys, who bought all copies everytime, maybe they used script. I hated this. But the site was dying before they did shutdown.

I remember it being good for when I only wanted a single game from a bundle, even if I relied exclusively on daily logins to get points (or coins, can't remember what they were) because there were never any tasks to do for my country, but the site didn't look all that sustainable so it wasn't much of a shock when they shut down. I highly doubt we'll ever see it making a comeback, it's been years already.
Technically speaking I've gotten a lot more games from lootboy and indiegala's feudalife but I miss being able to chose the games instead of getting keys at random. Although the one that was really nice was chrono.gg, they had the good stuff.

My humble homage

I have mixed feelings toward TremorGames. I used it to get a lot of Steam trading cards back then, along with a few games. It helped me save a good amount of money.
At the same time, it was pretty shady, like most survey-type websites. You were basically selling your own information through surveys and shitty ads that would spam you afterward. Hope nobody had the idea of using their real information, tho
You also had stuff to download, which I avoided at all costs. I'm pretty confident that most of them contained viruses, adware, etc...

never used it - was gone long before i knew of it - but used to use a site called Crono coins to get games and loved it

It was chrono.gg, where you could get coins for daily logins, with weekly and monthly extra points. (also offered a daily, occasionally very cheap purchase of indies
It was fairly big, and while had its ups and downs, had pretty good quality games. I think you could get roughly 5k? coins a month, the offered games with prices are here: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/sQp3a/chronogg-coin-shop-coin-shop-closes-down-on-29-jun-all-gone
(multiaccounters / bots made their mark on this too, as on anything else nowadays)

Free is free, and there's somebody for every game, who likes it.
But most importantly, they weren't added at the same date. Logging in daily on and on, then when they added Iconoclasts for 18k coins you could buy it. The more popular games were gone in 2-3 hours, because people saved up.

I were late around on sg and seen only the last few weeks/months of Tremor Games.
I don't used the site because i seen it as shady.
Tremor were a perfect way to exploit/abuse the sg cv system because none of the freebies (doing tasks for games isn't paying...) from there got marked as free on sg.
So i absolutely understand why some people miss the site. Mostly the people that gave a lot of that games here..., in many cases multiaccounters on the tremor site (too).

it's not always about CV you know (but of course to you it is)

I don't know as what you see or describe it.... but when i see people that use on each freebie site 30+ bot accounts (and destroy[ed] sites like chrono) to give the farmed games on sg, i see the gain of cv as a (main)reason for it.
I am sadly not allowed to list this guys here...
... but in the end not important.
Special because i ended my cheater hunter career months ago and a bunch of people around me too.

You do 20 minute surveys and still say it's "free".. I have to agree with wigglenose, this is really pushing a limit to point everything as free and abuse. It's actually working (if you compare it to money under minimum wage) for some games, i never looked at it money wise but the games i would get.

I do agree that they were shady, but I strongly disagree that it was abuse of CV system. One had to do actual work, stupid and repetitive, but still work, to get those games, so I don't see how this is different from buying. Also, majority of games from there were from bundles anyway, so CV was already reduced, and to get full-CV game from there you would have to work there A LOT, so honestly, buying game on 50% discount is bigger abuse than that site was.

It was... okay. Their task not always gave reward as intended, and once I've got a virus on my phone from those tasks, but I can't really blame tremor for that - those were third-party services they used. And unlike many other similar sites they never tried to scam you by taking away points you already got or changing prices "just because", and they always replaced duped keys and tried to resolve other issues as best as they could. Shady as hell, but of all the shady sites with the same system they were best indeed. I don't think they will ever return, their time has passed

Those virus ones were often very obvious, also you would get your fair share of spam emails for signing up on things.
But there was crowdflower that actually had fun tasks that paid well (but also strict) it really depended on what country you live in on what offer you got.

I did get quite a few cheap steam games with points from there.

I really do miss tremor nobody I have found has come close to their pricing and the amount of goods offered. I made Million plus watching videos and clipping coupons through tremor and they were the foundation on which my steam account was built. I now use gamesbolt and they are legit but sad to say cant hold a candle to what tremor was.

I'm still generally upset about that close to nothing was available for me on their site.
Sometimes they let you do full tasts, only to hit in the face at the end that not of the good age group, nationality or gender so you get nothing byeeeeeeeee.
It was basically useless, and on top of that actively harmful every now and then. Good riddance.

One day of working and I earned more than I did in years with sites like these. Tremorgames, prizerebel, swagbucks etc. For people with lots of free time and no job, yeah, it's awesome, you can earn a little bit of money/games, otherwise fuck no.

I think what made it close were all the abusers. I remember people with dynamic addresses would just restart and have the tasks all over again, restart, all over again. It was like an infinite money glitch for them. Not to mention multi accounts, and accounts that would take like 1000 of the same game. I remember close to its closing, it was getting hacked so often, someone somehow was getting me free points, for no reason, even sent me a few messages basically telling me they'll get me banned, had to talk to an admin about it to avoid it. Every few seconds I'd have another 10+ coins, adding up to thousands. It got fixed and I didn't get banned but still, imagine what they were doing to their own accounts. Of course there were accounts with millions of coins, and it made no sense since it wasn't a realistic attainable number. A lot of fraud going on. I think they were mostly going for the amazon gift cards. As many people said they always had problems with the surveys that didn't pay you at the end, with the bs excuse that you "didin't qualify" in the end, so I avoided those. Like qualify me at the start in 30 seconds, don't scam me. Like they were getting scammed on both ends, by the users, and the surveys. No way it's coming back in the same state as before. It wouldn't last.

If they do return, I think it'll end up being like Desura with a bunch of shitty, ad-supported nonsense and nothing like before.🫤
I miss Desura.

When I first saw the site I thought it was a scam. Then I decided to do one of the tasks just to see. The very first game I got was Hard Reset which was cheap to buy. The whole time I was thinking it wasn't going to work, even after I received the key. But it did. Then I was like oh shit free games! Although it was bullshit sometimes, points for surveys that I did would get revoked a week or two later and put me in the negative which really pissed me off. And I never did any tasks that required downloading programs b/c that was shady asf. It was cool while it lasted.

I for one think that this was such a good site. I did kind of enjoy both their rewarding games and just browsing and doing some tasks. I spent quite a lot of time at the site and got some great rewards too. And such nice support. What did you think of the site?
