I was adjusting the brightness on one of my games and in the process I changed my resolution to 1440x1050 (my resolution is 1440x900). It made my screen flicker black every time I loaded up the game. I then changed it to windowed mode with alt + enter. I went to change the resolution, but it says I can only do this in fullscreen mode. If I change it to fullscreen, the game breaks. Also I looked for a .ini file (if that is what I need to look for) and I could not find one. What do I do? Could I type a launch option in the properties of the game?

anyways, it's 4:53am, so I'm going to sleep, thanks in advance :)

THIs GOT RESOLVED BY AN AWESOME PERSON CALLED Destrado!

You have to find the CFG file and change it there, or you have to reinstall it and delete your saved data in the process

Saved data tends to be kept in a specific place, so you could back it up if you did some googling on where to find it

Maybe load the game with default settings

Create desktop shortcut

Right Click

Properties

Compatibility

Check "Run in 640*480 screen resolution"

Apply and Ok.

Hope it helped :)

Plug in a CRT monitor, if you have access to one, change the res then plug your other monitor back in. I'm assuming you have a flat screen monitor?

Also if you're using an hdmi cable unplug it and use a normal cable, change the res the go back to hdmi.

Try a complete uninstall with a 3rd party program, ones that can scan and remove all files and Registry entries then.

I don't think the idea was that you delete it, but that you change the settings in the file so conveniently called settings.

rightclick, open with notepad

When ever wc3 and stuff broke like that back in the day, we had to go into our registry and find the resolution in there and change it.

I think you might be onto something. I just don't get the HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Where do I find that?

so when u go run (windows key + r or from start menu)

type in regedit

then the options on the left will have current users

Scroll down till you find software and expand then try find related 007 stuff

What graphics card do you have? I believe nvidia's configuration utility has a way to force games to a resolution.

What kind of monitor are you using and what kind of cable? The reason I'm asking is I've been having a similar problem with a lot of games recently, the screen goes blue on launch and I get an 'out of range' message on screen, I connect my monitor using an hdmi cable. What I've done to resolve the problem is connect a normal cable (can't remember what it's called and I'm at work so can't look) then launch the game, change the resolution and reconnect my hdmi cable.
