Thank you.:)
I'd like to think most people would have done the same thing.:)

That must have been a shocking sight to see, sorry for that. But what really saddens me is that the driver did not care at all and moved along like nothing happened, really disrespectful and inhuman. I really feel compassionate for you and who wouldn't like such a playful cat to hang around with, may peace be found for Audrey.

The driver did end up stopping (I can't remember which post I mentioned it in), and he really did feel horrible about it. I believe he did care about it, but unfortunately nothing could be done for her.
Thank you for your kind words.:)

That is a very nice picture. Cats seem to like hugging.:)

Sorry for what happened. Cats are sometimes so playful they might run into the road at the wrong time. Maybe the driver doesn't appreciate animals or was in a hurry and couldn't care less. It is just so sad.
You seem to have had a great bond with Audrey. RIP. Maybe there is another pet to care for now hopefully :)

In this case, I think it was just a case that she had run out and he couldn't prevent hitting her. There was another cat that was beside her, so they may have been playing with each other. The driver was definitely shaken, and felt horrible (I didn't know he was the driver until my dad told me later).

Thank you very much.:)
The hugs are greatly appreciated, and I hope wherever the driver is, he feels the weight lifted from conscience.

That is true! While I don't think it could have been prevented this time, there have been far too many times I've seen idiots race down my street as if they were being chased by the devil himself! The speed limit is 50, not 80, and certainly not faster than that! It is insane how they feel the justification for speeding that much!

HUGS Sorry, man! Cats are beautiful creatures and it pisses me off when people say they have no souls. RIP Audrey!

Thank you.:)
I think that animals have souls. While they may not be exactly like ours...heck, who am I to say that they're not? They feel pain, happiness, sadness, just like us humans! There are nice ones, mean ones, silly ones, nasty ones! Just like us! She was one of the nice ones!
Take care.:)

If anyone wanted to give out some hugs, I sure could use some right now.
The neighbour's cat (her name was Audrey) was hit by a car a couple of hours ago, and was killed. It feels like I've been punched in the stomach, as I really liked her even though she wasn't even mine! She was a super-friendly cat, and she even walked into my house once! I was talking with a friend that was on my front porch, and had my front door open a bit (it was around New Year's). My friend asked when I had gotten a cat, and I replied that I didn't know what he was talking about! I looked behind me, and sure enough she was strolling around my living room! I picked her up gently, and brought her back outside (she was both an indoors and outdoors cat).
I did the best I could with her remains, and washed the street as well. I didn't want their kids to see their pet like that.
I'm thinking back to Audrey grooming herself beside my Butterfly Bush about a 1/2 hour before it happened, and trying my best not to cry. Damn it! I loved that cat. :(
Rest In Peace, Audrey. I'll miss you, and the happiness you brought me when I saw you.:(
