So.. it's on sale at the moment and lots of giveaways going on. However, the stupid thing is in my library as it's free to play for the next 4 days. I didn't ask for it, but you know steam likes to put it in there anyway.

I enabled the option to show games in my library, but obviously it still says that the game already exists in my account when I would like to enter a giveaway.

Is there a way to enter for these giveaways anyway? I see plenty of others entering and wondering how they are doing it. Will I just be missing out on giveaways for the next 4 days?

Sync your account with SG right before the free-to-play event and then put your profile on private for a while.

Free weekends always start on Wednesday or Thursday and end on Sunday, so sync on Monday or Tuesday

Nope.You need to wait till you won't have anymore in your library.

If you synced your account recently, you will need to wait and resync when it's removed from your profile. If you play it during the free weekend, it might take up to two weeks to get removed from your profile.

Yeah, my profile was Public and autosynced or I synched it earlier anyway as I had won a new game. Oh well, guess I'll just have to wait.
