So I just bought my first purchase as a gift via paypal and it's tradable. About an hour later, I bought another different game as a gift and it's not tradable? Says I have to wait 30 days before it becomes tradable. Any ideas? I know Steam/Valve has to check payment validity or something but why would the first game be tradable then?

I'm thinking maybe the second game is newer than the first? I'm stumped.

Well, the first game was Magic Crystals and the second was gmod. Maybe cos gmod is more expensive?

Oh wow, that is far off from my guess. I was wrong. I'm lost then, that was my only thought.

really? I can google just fine but that doesn't answer my question still. I am not asking why there's a non tradable tag. I just wanna know why the first game and the second game have different tags.

i'd wait to see if it's not some kind of bug, they both might not be tradable or even the other way.

nope, it's been a few hours now. First game is still tradable as per normal. Maybe I should buy another game and check out the tag. What's the odds it will be tradable again?

wanted to check your inventory but it seems it's not public, right? i'd contact support before purchasing another game.

no it's not. Anyway I have already sent the 2nd game Gmod as a gift with no problems. Guess it's just a puzzle to me is all.

well you can check the mark while purchasing that you want to send it immediately so it won't appear in you inventory, right? so if you know who you want to send it to, it's not a problem anymore.

yeah, if I send it straight to whomever, it probably wouldn't appear as a non tradable yeah?

it won't appear in your inventory so yes, you're out of trouble, but it might appear in your receivers inventory as non-tradable (if he wishes to trade it further), if you're sure the guy wants the game for himself - problem solved.

I cant remember why they were un-tradable. It happened to me also. Its because ur steam acc is new right? Also there was a way to trade them, but cant remember it now.

It is my first time buying stuff yes, and I can trade them by sending as a gift no problem. Just curious why the difference is all.

official steam site: 'Only gifts that are purchased on trusted accounts can be traded immediately; otherwise there is a 30-day cool down before the gift can be traded. Any account that has made any valid purchase from the Steam Store more than 30 days ago is considered trusted. This is to ensure that all games traded are valuable, and help prevent fraudulent purchases for the purpose of trades. If you do not make a purchase on your Steam account after being labeled as trusted within a year your status will be reset and you will need to wait an additional 30-days before being trusted again.'
