I did a giveaway for a game I got for free (Half Past impossible) and the person who received it said that the key was a duplicate. I talked with him and found a game to replace it with and he seemed happy with it. Now I'm just wondering how it should go from here. Should he mark the game a s "not received" (I remember a person get penalized if they mark received but don't activate it or something) and then just leave a comment that he got a replacement, or what? That's what I told him to do, but I'm curious what I should do in the future if something like that occurs

If someone knows of an article or where I can find info about this I will happily read it as well. I just was having issues finding info about it

It's better to delete it with his permission as he is happy with replacement to avoid not received tag

Ask him if he'll agree to delete the giveaway. If so, just link to his post and open a support ticket asking to delete the giveaway.

If you don't delete the giveaway, he would have no choice but to mark "not received."

It doesnt matter if he is happy or not, whether you provide the exact game promised, or get a "not received" mark. Not activating the won game on own accound leads to a suspension. The only way is to ask him to agree to delete the giveaway, which he should write in comments to it, so you can ask the support to do it.
