Counter Strike 1.6

The only reason to play cs 1.6 right now is nostalgia. I suspect you dont have it :). So I have to say no.

In summer sale yes, but most ppl who still enjoy it are veterans who played it years ago, and some ppl only play modded servers. I personally don't like it, I like more CS:S only for modded servers, but just for normal Counter Strike game the option is CS:GO. Also most of the mods we played on CS:S are now in Gmod, and even more.

if you want to avoid all the aimbotters that are currently hoarding cs:go then yes perhaps.. if you got a low specs pc that with every sticker update you get 30-60 fps yes... but in general... no because you will say.. what graphics are these?

if you haven't played it, than it's hard to suggest it for you. if you have played it, than you know it's great game and you should get it ;)

It's fun but new players won't really get into it anymore.
As already mentioned, it's rather for nostalgia reasons.

1.6 was great, I really don't think it has many players it was virtually deserted the last time I tried to play.
If you're just looking for a new cs experience, and don't own it - go for CS:Condition Zero.
Campaign.. or Story mode.. or w/e it is called is a lot of fun.

I played 1.6 for thousands of hours (Steam didn't count hours back then; Steam didn't even exist when I first picked this game up when it was a free mod for Half-Life.) Now I'm playing CS:GO. I installed 1.6 again a few months ago or so. And "oh my God, this looks like shit" was my first thought :-P

The game didn't age very well. Condition Zero aged way better, but for some reason it's not popular (even though it's the same game as 1.6 mechanically; just the textures and models were better.)

If you can look past the game looking like total crap, then go for it. It's still in the top 10 list of most played games on Steam, surpassing games like Arma 3, Dark Souls 2, DayZ, Rust, Counter-Strike Source, Left 4 Dead 2, all of the Call of Dutys... Yeah. It's extremely popular to this day. Note however, that there's no match-making, like in CSGO. There's only community servers. Official Valve servers have never existed for this game.
