I've seen tons of folks that play this game talking about the lack of rebinding in the in-game menus and or having issues even launching the game due to their potato PCs. A user shed some light on the subject and had an answer, so I made a post about it on the main forums with images and a video for proof: https://forums.mihoyo.com/genshin/article/41845

"Step 1: Open the Genshin executable.

Step 2: Hold shift and click "Launch."

Step 3: Profit."

Hope this helps with folks here that play the game.
(I also posted on Reddit, but that place is just a cesspool so it went nowhere as usual.)

Edit: For those of you that aren't in the loop, check out the free to play, cross-platform between PC/PS4/Android/iOS, open world RPG, Breath of the Wild clone: https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en/game/

I got Venti on my first 10 pull in the game and I've just sat back and basked in the gamer rage since.

My RNG has always been Godlike, so much so that I didn't even flinch when I saw him, I just shrugged. :T

Have a lot of Ventis but for some reason Im trying to get Diluc. Might give up and try to see whats the best account to go on with. Maybe one with Qiqi to be a healer / support.

Well, considering you're missing out on a lot of freebies in the early days of the game by rerolling, you've already screwed yourself long term and need to start going on ANY account now.

It's a combat focused, open world RPG game that let's you swap through 4 party members on the fly (in single player) that can use different weapon types and elemental types specific to each character for different fighting styles and elemental damage combos. It's got a really decently filled open world with bread crumbs of things to do ALL OVER the damn place. Just when you think you've got an idea of what kind of puzzles exist in the world, you find something new or that requires an element that you need to get (via the main storyline or gacha mechanics) just to do them.

The only real gate keeping is story based and it opens up after a good couple hours. I've been playing non-stop since launch, sad I missed the beta.

PC Gamer did like 10 'articles' on it in the last 14 days so... it has to be! I will quote from FB: "Getting there... feeling it... not liking it... also think I won't be playing for much longer" and there's another one: "I quit before I even got that far. Never touching a f2p game again."

I never paid attention to the game until release day, gave it a try, and I'm hooked. Over the course of the next few days, it somehow took priority for me over Crusader Kings III, and MGS V: Phantom Pain (backlog).

I'd say some of its strongest points are in:

  • Exploration - Game rewards curiosity
  • Traversal - Climbing, finding a way to solve a puzzle, getting to an area
  • Combat - Jordanlol covered it well. At the heart of combat is building an up to four person team/party, and executing elemental reactions for extra combat effects (Freeze, Overload, Superconduct, Melt, etc.)
  • Music - It's incredible. One of the game's strongest points actually, there's a lot of love put in here! First region themes are solid. Second region is just marvelous, mindblowingly good stuff. And that one boss...
  • Story/lore/worldbuilding - The mythology seems promising enough (can't wait for the next 5 regions, minimum, to drop over the course of years), with some characters being kinda sus already but there's some unexpectedly tragic connect-the-dots stories among some NPCs, and some hilarious ones too. Gives the world a good bit of flavor, that they interact/have interacted with each other/refer towards one another. Some quests branch out at different paths because of this too, which is kind of refreshingly unexpected.

Negatives:

  • Gacha rates are low. Reaaal low.
  • Many have expressed concern about the Resin system, a kind of stamina system for certain tasks
  • Primogem (game's premium currency) will eventually run into a drought unless they add more viable and sustainable ways of earning in-game, real soon
  • Monsters grant hilariously low EXP rates
  • Earning mora (the world's currency) also needs a boost
  • Camera can be wonky sometimes, usually when your character is next to objects

I'll stop at the negatives there lol

All in all I would recommend the game!

Decent game until you hit end game (I heard), since a lot of stuff is double-grind locked. And the Gacha rates are awful too. So hopefully the devs address these issues within the next big patch, or else the game might die out quickly.
