Hey there, a friend of mine committed suicide this past week-end. She was struggling with depression for a long time. She was sad, unhappy, and could not see past it. She was 40 years young. It saddens me a lot because we always feel inadequate when this happens. We feel guilty.

I want to send her love and affection so that her soul may be at peace with the universe and that whatever happens after death will not be worse than what she felt on this earth.

If anyone reading this feels at the end of the road, please contact someone that makes you laugh or calm. Please contact a mental health professional through anonymous lines or whatever means that are at you disposal. It may feel that nothing else will change, but THIS IS NOT TRUE. You can get out of this.

I love you folks.

Since she was an artist at heart, here's a little something to get the wheel of love rolling https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/1AzzC/passpartout-the-starving-artist

I'm sorry for your loss. I've struggled with depression as well a couple of years ago, but luckily I didn't allow me to hurt kill myself, because I thought all would've been for nothing and that my life wasn't finished yet. I was quite hard on myself back then, which was one of the causes of the depression. I did have some thoughts about what it would be like for my environment if I stopped living though, scary stuff.

The worst thing about depression is that nobody around you gets what you're going through, even the ones that try. I've found that the only ones that do know are either psychologists or people that have had gone through depression.

I hear you, it's a really weird thing depression, melancholy and sadness. And to know it comes from such a wonderful place (caring and sensibility).

Good to know you're doing better. Stay strong <3

I'm very sorry to hear this. Somehow her age makes me sad. It's someone who has managed to fight to be alive for quite a long time, and then succumbed. It makes me feel that she could have gone on living. But on the other hand, I guess she just didn't manage to get out of it, after trying for a long time. It's really sad.

I've staring at this thread for a while to try to say something nice and maybe poetical. I failed. Idk it's a topic I don't know how to approach or help.

Well all I can say is I'm sorry for your friend. Just like me, it's not that we didn't want to help, it's we didn't know how. Oh gosh I suck at this.
JUST STAY STRONG! KEEP YOUR HEAD TALL!

Not entering the GA, too lazy for that, but thanks anyways.

I know, but just saying a little something is appreciated. In fact There are no words available in any language to express the right thing in these situations.

I've called the Suicide Hotline at least 5 times this week so far. I suspect I'll be calling a few more to talk to someone and get through the rest of the week.

My condolences.

A friend of mine lost his 15 year old daughter to suicide recently and it's been pretty rough on everyone that knew her. There were no signs. She seemed like a happy and sweet girl. 😢

If you're in the United States the number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is 1-800-273-8255. They are there for the family and friends as well and can direct you to services if you or anyone else involved with this tragedy needs to talk to someone.

All I can say is that my best friend that I had plans with suddenly died when I was 17. He was kind of like a brother to me. I never really recovered... I have lost quite a few friends over time for various reasons - many odd, but it's always bad, or hard to take, rather, when it's somebody you know or care about.

I have lyme, so my mind can cross easily into the death mentality... but I want to continue and struggle along for now, even though pretty much my entire society looks down on people with the phantom disabilities. I will also never get enough to live on by myself really as long as I cannot work. We'll see, but it definitely feels like I will never get out of it. Maybe things will change if I get well; anything can happen.

I'll not say much more on it, since it is not about me. Just... perhaps... don't ignore things and block it like a "stay strong" mentality does to somebody if it is extreme. My advice would be definitely let the grieving process happen naturally. Staying strong and never shedding a tear with my best friend's death changed me, and I am not so sure it was in a good way. I refer to extreme, of course ^ but just mentioning from experience.

Also, we should tell the people we love and appreciate that we do, and really try to relay that across when we can. We are not here forever.
My sympathies to your friend, her family, and also you and your family too.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Staying strong must not come at the expense of the saddest and deeest feelings which MUST be lived.
I think it is really courageous of you to keep fighting and I pray that there will be things in your life to alleviate the weight of the hardships.

Keep at it, you're worth it ;)

Much love to you and your loved ones also.

thanks again -_-

hmmm i don't really understand your contribution.... It seems to me that you cared enough to bring back a four days old thread just to make it your problem.

I wish you happy holidays and hope that your pain will fade and transform in harmony.

Take care friend and rest well.

Im sorry for your loss, been going through a suicidal state for some time so I can empathize.I just want to tell you that now she has found peace,it is indeed hard for the ones left behind, but try not to feel guilty even though its hard because of the ''What If's'',and what you could do,please dont take the blame on yourself,I'm sure she didnt want you to be sad,but happy that she has now found what she wanted, peace. Stay strong and take care of you!

I hope you can find solace in little happy places and things. In fact although I think that suicide is a choice, I found that findind in ourselves the courage to fight through depression grants us a lot of strenght, insight and love for the world and it's people. I hope that you find your way through this, and if you ever need to talk to someone, I can be a good listener/reader ;)

Take care of you and your loved ones.
