Hi. Christmas time and Advent is coming pretty soon, so I will have an Advent event, similar to this starting December 1st.
To get in a mood for that, I have created a trial run jigidi that will land you some extra boost points in that event.
To get those extra points, you have to solve this jigidi (obviously), take a screenshot like this or something similar where you can clearly see your SG username and solving time, and than post link to that screenshot in giveaway that is at the end of jigidi.

Only submissions that are posted before giveaway end counts!

jigidi: https://www.jigidi.com/jigsaw-puzzle/zkm2ipx9/ozoxmas-preparation/
game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/633060/Orwell_Ignorance_is_Strength/
level 2
end: 23.11. 12:00 PM UTC+2 why?
mood music: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPdHkHslFIU
please bump

Event will be available for users of Level 1 and above. So even if you can't enter this GA, you may still want to solve this jigidi if you are Level 1

As always, remember I have this long train running now. In there you can also find bunch of songs I have created and I would appriciate some support with views, likes and subscribes to my channel.

Please proofread this years thread and tell your thoughts. Is it understandable? Anything to add? Full rules will be added on website.

Bump, I'll try to solve some day before it ends... Tho I don't think I'll enter the event. Last year I ended with very bad wrist. Good luck to the rest!

The most important question for me is is your site exactly-surely-definitely-really safe?

I mean, I never log in via Steam on any sites at all. The exceptions are Humble and Steamgifts.
I don't even trust online stores that sell keys, as I've heard about the possibility of hacking through the API... ๐Ÿ™

Will we necessarily need to log in to your website via Steam to participate? Or will it be enough to have a Jigidi account?

The second question - I didn't really understand why you need to score points?
If you collect 27.000 points, you will get access to special giveaways at the end of the event?

steam login as itself is safe. steam does not send any sensitive data.

about points, yes, users with or above specific points will get to specific giveaways

Hi ozo, here's some proofreading edits for the thread:

  • "But still, it wouldn't be fare to" - should be "fair" not "fare"
  • In the examples, it's confusing that you mention the number of points twice and the two values are different. For instance, the second example says you get 1000 points and then later says you get 250 points. I would just remove the first amount of points from each example, where you either say you get 1000 or -1000 points, leaving just the actual amount of points you would get.
  • Last paragraph before "rules/guidelines": I would make a few minor changes to: "For your submission be counted as valid, you must follow some rules/guidelines. These rules will also be written in the Help section in a bit more detail. The pre-Event event is a good taste of what you will need to do."
  • In the last bullet point under the rules/guidelines I'd change "your time on puzzle page" to "your time on the puzzle page", and "in example" to "for example".

Getting excited for the event! Thanks for putting it on.

The event thread seems fine to me, I guess anything left will be clarified once the website is on :D

The rules are simple and clear, so I don't think it will be any problem sticking to them. I just don't like this one:
"if you solve puzzle on it's day, you will get most points, but if you solve it before or after, you will receive less points."
Solving puzzle after few days and getting less points for that? Sure. But solving puzzle earlier and being "punished" for that? I can imagine some people solving puzzle earlier, because they will know that that day, when you can get max amount of points they won't be able to do it, because they will not be home atm etc. So I, personally, suggest to change it for something like that:
"solving puzzles earlier or on it's day = most points; solving after it's day = less points"
or even
"solving puzzles one day before or on it's day = most points; solving after it's day = less points".

The rest of the rules are very fine for me and I can't wait for event to start. ;)

i get that earlier is not the same as late but idea still is to solve on the correct day as it is an advent event. maybe earlier could be less drastic in point deduction but early is still not fair as most people will still solve it on day it's meant to be solved

Yeah, you're right, looking at this as an advent event it all makes sense, that solving puzzles on it's day gives you max points. I like the idea that solving puzzles earlier isn't the same as solving them lately, so point deduction should be less, maybe something around 60% - 70%.of max points :)

Understandable but simpler and more grammatically correct with a small change or two ('wouldn't be fair' sets the condition so you don't need 'would' with the other verbs in the same sentence - 'give' and 'come'). This is the one sentence that I thought was a little unclear, my suggested changes are below, but I think it's understandable as it is :)

'But still, it wouldn't be fair to everyone if all puzzles gave the same amount of points every day, so point calculation comes into play here- farther away from the actual date == fewer points awarded.'
