+1, played about 60+ hours of it on my 3DS and easily could put more in once I get back around to it, loved it so much I bought it for steam as well to support the developers. Fan-freaking-tastic game.

Does stuff like Oniken, Odallus, LaMulana, Insanity's Blade, Fitz the Fox or Xeodrifter also count or do you want the pure 8-bit experience :? Maybe some of the SEGA classics...
