No more Flash/Daily deals during Steam Sales?

So this was on Reddit a few days ago:

Looks like there won't be any Flash or Daily Deals during Sales. This means all games on sale will keep the discount through the whole sale period.

PS: I'm sorry if this is old news, just found out today.
