It's one of the best JRPG of all time, if they make a good job with the remake I don't want to wait 1-2 years more to get it on PC.
And it's not like I'm never going to touch the PS4 again after finishing it, there are other PS4 exclusive games that I want to play.

The Elder Scrolls series has some of my favorite RPGs though. I had a good time with oblivion and I'm still working on Morrowind but it's been fun albeit not quite as user friendly. Skyrim can be good with some of the mods, but it wasn't quite as exciting vanilla

in the end i chose the name brand RPG and picked final fantasy. but dang the reviews on fencer are intense

We had a PS2, it kind've broke so I was never able to finish it. Was probably one of the longest games I've ever played though. I had at least 100 hrs in it and I wasn't even halfway through the story.

I feel II and XIII are the worst ones so far (this could change as I haven't played ALL of the Final Fantasies yet). II is really broken, easy to cheat the system and gain tons of exp without actually doing anything and I just found it generally uninteresting. XIII is ... well ... it doesn't feel like Final Fantasy; too linear, the characters felt very inconsistent and too often felt over-the-top, sure the graphics are amazing but graphics alone can't make up for a generally unpleasant and boring experience.

i "stop" playing the saga after VI, i didnt have the psx, so i played to VII and VIII at random points at friends house's, never played to IX, beated the last boss on X (didnt play anything else from the X, just my friend told me that i couldnt kill it and the trick was to use mirror on the boss, so the OP heals that he does, just go to you o.O ) the XI was online and didnt bother on it, then XII that i disliked a lot, and never touched the XIII ( i read somewhere that the best female character from the saga is the one on XIII, i just rofl).

I've played I, II, IV, VI, VIII, X, XII, and XIII. I haven't beat most of them, usually it was I had borrowed the game for a short while or I got busy with other things. Also, no one seems to care about IX, it's like it doesn't exist. As for XIII, yes, Lightning is probably the best thing that that game has to offer and is the only character I actually usually liked.

IX fell in a very awkward time, when the PSX was already dying, with a setting that never really fit into anywhere else, being a classic fairytale kingdom again after with VII and VIII the series started to go into the sci-fi/fantasy territory. The initial reception was quite mediocre, and it got a following much, much later, when it was already too late.

And I think that that is what I really like about XII. It's more fantasy than sci-fi. I also really liked the characters and felt like I could connect to them. As for the combat, it felt much more satisfying actually being able to move around while you're fighting instead of being stuck in the normal turn-based stances. However, the only thing that annoyed me was having to grind your secondary set of characters or risk being screwed if your primaries die.
