I miss those tycoon games, wasted countless hours.

Edit: Tropico was 4 is pretty fun.

I never got into city-building sims, but Theme Park World blew my mind.

Simcity 4 is still one of the best.

Theme Hospital, if you want something more light-hearted (can be found on GOG). Cities in Motion in case you want a game focusing more on setting up efficient routs (it is quite fun actually). The Tropico series (might as well get 4 right away) if you want more of a city-building game, Caesar 3 if you want a really good city building game with historical ties (people have said that Zeus is even better, though I have yet to play it, so I can't comment on it). And finally, Children of the Nile for another really good historical city building game.

I really liked Zoo Tycoon, Theme Hospital, SimCity 3000 and Roller Coaster Tycoon. Also Cities XL seems like a wonderful game.

Roller Coaster Tycoon is the best.

(The first one is really, really, great.)

Tropico 1,3. Don't know about 2 and 4, have not played them.

Tropico 3 or 4. My favorite city building series. T4 plus the Modern Times expansion is the best experience. However, if you want to spend a bit less Tropico 3: Gold Edition is a great entry in the series.

Zootycoon. The one is very good and the second, awesome.

You can try the Pharaoh sèries if not.
