Steam is bit buggy lately. I can see it on my gameplay time - for SS: The First Encounter HD in my library for me it shows I have played it for 11 hours but I have played it for only around 30 minutes. So I think it's a glitch. P.S. All F2P games you have played count as your games too.

I have ~480 and it says 703 as well. It's currently reported to steam as a bug.

Maybe because of the STEAM FAMMILY SHARING ? /:)?

It's a bug, I got my Director of Acquisitions badge thanks to it. Then it disappeared, I'm back to my normal count after buying a new game. Just 153 more games and I'll get that badge back...sigh.

Maybe steam gave you 200 games as a gift.

Also happened to me 12 hours earlier. Items appeared with name like "Steam_app 2342"
They do not give any xp.

Steam did their regular maintenance. Expect stuff to keep bugging out until the next maintenance.

My library count keeps bouncing around between 245 games and 248 games.

Sometime tools, like key revoke tool and other stuffs, are also count into number of games you have.
