I'm just in it for the free munnie. Made $2.32 so far by selling cards I got from voting :P

Well, according to my statistics i've made 500$ from trading cards in 1 year :)

How do you check that? I'd like to see what i've made :)

I didn't use enhanced steam though. I knew i had bought over 10 000 cards. Let's say each card is 0,05$. 10 000 x 0,05 = 500. Usually the cards are at a higher price so i'd say over 500$

Also, those are all console games, as well.. It just depends on whether the devs/publishers want to see their lovingly crafted hard work sell for ridiculous pennies or not :> As a dev I'd personally flip the flyin' bird to the whole summer sale thing, or I'd do maybe 25% off.. I get it, that if Payday 1 didn't go on sale for a measly 1.25 that it would have sold very few copies and that on sale it sold 1000+% more than it would have normally, thus making a profit.. But, end of the day, all those people who bought it now digitally own it, and will never need to replace their copy.. Nice for a quick money grab concerning a game the dev/publisher may consider "dead", but overall I see it hurting sales in the long run..
Dunno. I hate math :)
Hahaha, quick money! :D I've made around five bucks or so on this sale, and the worst part is that BEFORE the sale I bought up a full set of summer cards (at 20-27 cents each), and crafted a badge on day 1.. Granted, I did NOT think to go check and see that the 10 cards I had right then were worth OVER FIVE DOLLARS. :| Never would have crafted that hideous badge if I'd noticed that :>
Still, through daily votes (and through ((early on)) selling a single summer card for enough money to purchase cheap cards to complete other badges thus EARNING me summer cards which I sold to complete other badges thus EARNING me summer cards to complete other badges which..) :D

For a game like CSGO that can handle on like any computer due to its engine and the gameplay of CSGO even though I don't agree on the items I play for fun but 50% off is good and thats not going to stop cheaters anyways because if they cheat im sure they would just Torrent their game anyways if they even bothered to hack. It's dumb but whatever.

Yea.... my friends and myself have noticed that. One of the biggest things that left me just kinda staring at the screen in disbelief was when the Lego Movie video game was on a daily sale and then was part of one of the voting sale options for the same amount. It didn't win, but the fact they would even put it in the voting sale while it was on daily sale is terrible..... more like inexcusable.

Oh look it's this thread again. Same complaints after/during every sale.

Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition was on sell in a flash and when it was on sell it also put Injustice Among Us on sell

Dishonored had a daily sale, a flash sale, and a community sale so far if I remember correctly...

Honestly, I'm (personal opinion, please continue reading) loving this sale. Got everything I wanted: Fallout 3 GOTY, FO NV all DLC, Skyrim Legendary, Borderlands 2 UVH2, and instead of 30€ base game I got The Secret World Massive Edition for 15€. Things I'd like to see: Morrowind/Oblivion 75%ish sale (Morrowind GOTY still 20€ base price meanwhile base Skyrim 15€!), and maybe a 1-2€-ish Super Meat Boy.
In winter sale I couldn't buy like anything, I didn't had money on my card (sad story) - but let's imagive I bought all of these games back then. They I would buy Bioshock triple pack, maybe GTA (last was GTA 2-3 I played more), Dragon Age Origins... but after that, I don't know. I'm not really intrested in the latest games - I like platformers, adventure games, exploration games, and FPS games with a tweak (Borderlands: absurd humour, Fallout3-NV: RPG, quests - but I don't really like pure FPS-es like COD series or recent Wolfenstein, nor horror games too much (Outlast was a great deal on sale, but no-oh.). It seems in the following 1-2 sales I'll clean up the older games that fit my taste, and after it I'll just wait for deals so good they beit me into horror too, or something like that.
TLDR: I'm really happy for the games I bought on sale, but If I already had them, I'd be more troubled about "is there anything good for me?"

On the one hand, I like the sale because I can earn Steam Wallet by selling those Summer Cards. On the other hand, some sale prices are pretty shitty (they've had lower ones before, like CS:GO). The event itself is pretty rigged and honestly I'd rather they didn't do it the way they did it...

"The sales not bad, you just own everything you want right now."
You're not going to be seeing amazing deals on new games you're dying to play. You're going to see deals on the games you already own because you have 500 of them(me). I personally am enjoying this sale, even though I haven't gotten many "must buys" this time around. I'm also on a strict budget this time, unlike fall sale last year where I blew $250.

I agree, this sale has had a ton more repeats than previous ones and it's not even the fact that I own a lot of games, it's the fact that very little of the stuff that has come out in the meantime is getting sales and it's the same stuff over and over again and in some cases, even the exact same discounts as the last time. There's not even a lot of stuff I actually own in there, it's more like it's a lot of stuff that is in all the genres I dislike playing.
I'm probably going to go crazy on the last day buying up everything I wanted that didn't make it to a flash sale, daily deal or win in community choice because the vast majority of games I want aren't showing up at all. Only one game I was interested in lost a community choice vote.
I think previous sales had a much nicer mix of genres featured. This one seems to be a lot of the same types of games.

I could of swore I'd seen some of these on sale already.

I agree that it has had many repeats... But for me personally this is also the sale where I've gotten the most games (and most of them were from my wishlist). I got Skyrim legendary, FF VII and VIII on nice discounts ( actually VIII is on 66% right now for another day or so, I just randomly saw it by browsing my wishlist again) , I got tropicos, Saints Row IV and some small indie games too... It has been a good sale for me.

I agree these sales were good for indie games : battleblock, papers please.
Personnaly still hope for civilization V because still remain some sales days.

So wait, what do the summer sales themselves not like? Your title is incredibly misleading.
Comment has been collapsed.
I really don't see it...people saying there aren't enough different kinds of games going on sale...just looking by community choice titles, games on sale and whatnot there's tons of different kinds of games - it seems it's just not in the taste of whoever said it, like every year. And repeats? I've been watching every single deal and honestly there haven't been many repeats, seemingly less than previously. I actually want more repeats, since I missed The Witcher.

Well I can say that I do remember last years sale being much more impacted by greater sales than these ones!

Of course I'd be lying if I did not do good business, but honestly I preferred the sale of last summer, so many games have not seen the light in the sale, for example:
Etc. ..
Missing three days at the end of the sales (Sundays do not count because they put the same games) and have not put a lot of great games, do not know the reason why.
Then the Daily Flash games, always put the same games, Go home 4 times, 4 times Dragon Age Origins etc ....
Onestemente preferred balances last summer, and you?
