so, whats up with the trading cards?

Just got 3 invites to the trading card in my inventory, when I try to activate it it said already in game library. also, what are they, and what do they do, how do you get more of them?

Those are just invites. You already are in the beta. You can give those away.
Look at your profile and you will see the change and also the badge section. Earn cards by playing the games.
After that realize that you can't obtain all the cards unless you pay money and then go and make Gaben rich. More rich.

You should also read the FAQ, so you know which game drops cards.

And even then it will always be a shortage of non-F2P game cards, unless I've misunderstood something very basic. :/
