Hey! So I haven't created a thread in what feels like years. And now that I'm quarantined and bored as shit, nows a good a time as any :D
I have twooo giveaways to giveaway here (and a third in the near future from votes, that'll also be WL-gated) (personally my vote is for Hotel Sowls, and NOT JUST BECAUSE ITD SAVE ME MONEY,, ok maybe a bit, but seriously watch that trailer look how weird and cute it is?? the vibes??), the theme for which are that theyre amazing-looking indie games that havent been given away here on SG yet. one is open to all over level 3, and the other behind a whitelist gate. Since I thought it worked really well in my last thread, I'm going to do the same thing here
To get into my super exclusive cool kids club whitelist, all you have to do is give someone a compliment on this thread. Try find something you can genuinely compliment on/something you find great about them. It can be anything from their steam profile, to their avatar, to their presence here, whatever. And I'll add you. :)
Mention a forum user you are grateful for! (for anything as well, maybe a game you won from them and really liked, or a comment they left, the threads they make, their general presence... etc). That'd be great too
If you took part in the last one, and want to show appreciation to the same person, or can't think of another right now, feel free to do just that. :)
Oh! And you have to have said your thank yous in past won giveaways as well!
Not ALL--because some are said through steam I understand, and sometimes its just late, your tired and/or feeling negative, and you forget.... But I want to make sure there are a few. Because saying thank you is always the bare minimum one can do, right?
disclaimer:your whitelist may not remain after the giveaways end depending on how many enter, since I like to try keeping it somewhat small, and somehow I've gathered 239 people (really not small) on it already apparently (too many kind and great people here on SG).. So please dont do any whitelist for whitelist stuff, and hate me if you find I then cut you out after :(
Also, here's a few random (totally objectively) amazing-looking and aesthetically pleasing upcoming indie games that may or may not interest you, that I've found stalking the steam upcoming tab over the years:
^incredible trailer... and style. Damn, that style
^mmmm hit me with that background rain ambience and soft animal crossing-like soundtrack
^some might say they took a few notes from Animal Crossing... (and that is a yes please)
And on another unrelated note, has anyone got any recommendations for Ghibli-inspired games (other than Ni No Kuni)? If not in art style, games that invoke that same sense of breezy, soft, subtly magical, innocent, young and unhurried adventure as their films do. That invoke for you the same magical feelings as these tracks...
"Path of The Wind" by Joe Hisaishi
Princess Mononoke - Departure to the West
2: The Girl Who Fell from the Sky CitS OST
Spirited Away (2001) - The Name of Life (Instrumental piano)
(also - if you've never watched any Ghibli films, please considering that... For yourself. You might just very well need it right now:))

Which for the third?
I am grateful for Sooth for all the cool pics and making me laugh and not getting annoyed when I am flaky about replying <3
I would like to thank Alvin who helped me a lot in my initial weeks on sg and showed me around!
I really appreciate my bestest of my best internet friends from two discord servers, namely Cassol, Cece, Ru, Wiks, and Corvo for, among many other things, being there when I needed a friend. They are fun to talk with and genuinely great folks, as well as always being helpful when I have a question, even if it is a really, really dumb one. I know them best through two discords, but they are among the main reasons I have stayed in those discords. I always enjoy a convo with them. +10 rep to each.
A further list of people I know and appreciate on or from this site and why:
I appreciate all of those listed, and I'd say this when asked regardless of whether or not it was this thread or one about "name your favorite SG folks". These are folks who add joy to my life by their presence in the forums or discord.
Aww, that's very sweet of you 😊
Glad to be part of a pleasant introduction to the site 😁
😎 o7 🤠
I'd like to thank MouseWithBeer for their monthly Play A Game thread! It's just another incentive which helps me personally put time into some of these smaller games I've won on SA which leads to more variety and game time for me. As for thanks, I always try to leave a personalized message!
Doraemon's harvest moon game: https://store.steampowered.com/app/965230/
(wait for a sale, definitely overpriced)
There are too many people to tag in gratitude but i appreciate everyone who maintains the deals threads and bundle updates, having contributed in the past it is a mountain of work to be constantly updating.
Heyyy, I like Doraemon, this genre, and I completely forgot about this game! I remember seeing about it before it released. Thanks dothacker! :D Man, as if Doraemon wasn't wholesome enough, we get a doraemon harvest moon???
I take it from your recommendation you've played it? If so, how would you rate it? It being Ghibli-inspired aside, would you call it a great game?
I have not played it, but reading all reviews agree that while it's a nice wholesome game the content isn't there to justify the full price.
THIS GIF IS SO CUTE. Do you know what it's from?
I actually do :)
A whole site of impossibly cute things!!! You've spoiled me, thank you. Must resist the urge to buy a tiny gnome.
Cute things are the best things to spoil yourself these days :)
Thanks for the GAs! WLed.
As for Ghibli like games, I would say Forgotten Anne! Beautiful game!
EDIT: and oh hello Indie game fan! ;)
Hadn't heard of Forgotten Anne before, and it looks pretty great, thanks for the recommendation!
Nice list! Here is my long list of upcoming indie games that's worth checking out:
And thanks for making this giveaways!
Oh come on! I have 350 games on my wishlist already!
As I was checking out (and wishlisting/following a couple) those games, I saw that Alder's Blood was not an unreleased game.
And then I saw the release date: 10 April 2020. That's pretty cool ^^.
Plus they're live-streaming right now.
Thanks a lot for the great list LaVolpe! :) Thought for a sec I might just be on top of almost everything having stalked the steam store so much, for so long... but I still found quite a few games here I hadn't ever seen before. I especially loved the look of SIGNALIS, Sea of Stars and She Dreams Elsewhere, man they look great
Since you guys were so nice and/or cool in voting for Hotel Sowls--something I really didn't expect--I decided I OBVIOUSLY now have to hurt my wallet even further and give both the top two away as some twisted form of appreciation (defeating the point entirely :)))
lol, saving money is over-rated. Thank you :)
To be honest, I'm not really interested in any of the giveaways, however, I think your thread is great so I will bump it by giving thanks to someone nonetheless :)
I'd like to give thanks to Lanny223. It's been a while, but we met thanks to SG a while back and it's been great knowing him, talking to him and playing with him on Steam/Discord. Lots of fun times have been had and probably will still be had! :)
I have to say i always enjoy seeing appreciation threads and responses. I think this is what counts more for the generous givers and active community members. The good thing about this community is that it is based on generosity and good heart so one is bound to meet nice people here.
If i was to choose one, my vote would go to grez1! Dude always goes the extra mile to deliver some interesting events! Thanks grez!
PS: Thank you for the games recommendations, my wishlist just got bigger!
Also, i like Studio Ghibli movies and i enjoyed Forgotton Anne.
Another one for Forgotton Anne, thank you for the rec! :)
Yes, i finished it recently and it was nice.
Also thanks for the WL, added you in mine too!
Not a specific person but I really need to thank "Playing Appreciated" and "Pagywosg" groups and MouseWithBeer on behalf of them. These are just great projects I may say. I had a lot of games that I've never won, but thanks to these groups, I started to play the games in my backlog. I am happy about it because some of them were really great games. I quite enjoyed playing them. Also when giving away, it's good to know that people are going to play it. They are not just trying to enlarge their library.
I'd like to thank everyone who is making lists of free games during the quarantine, and in particular Wvat,
Joseahfer, spookypannkaka, nhahtdh, InSpec... and starporcasa for all the jigis! :)
and of course thank you, Zaugr! :)
You're all awesome!
I would like to say thanks to "Deleted-4008671" for time he spend with us. Super helpful and friendly. Also super fast in resolving tickets xD
Oh no.. I looked around for their old username and recognised the name immediately. I had no idea they deleted their account :/ Was definitely a very friendly guy, as well as a big part of the community.
Sorry for bringing sad news in a positive topic :)
But he was first person that came to my mind when I read what you were asking for :)
KornKage i'd very like your steam profile background with Serah from FF =) and your ava is like "If South Park will anime" ;)
And i also join you with this: thanx to all kind people at steamgifts who do giveaways! :D especially: Dullingaah, AAS, Sombod, miha86 and many many others! (including Zaugr :) thank you for your nice indie list, many of them i added to my WL )
I appreciate to xwinno, He gave me stay-home-presents lately:)
I'd like to thank everyone who's giving away games during this time. The pandemic is really depressing. It's nice to see people trying to make each other happy.
Thanks for this post.
Sable looks amazing. :)
A huge thank you to DrTenma for all his puzzles.
Kappaking is a very nice and supportive member. Most here are, but Kappa is the only one I can thank with 🥒🥒🥒. ;)
my thankful shoutout goes to user casualfilth. he hit level 10 after being a member for only a few months.
in two days, he will have been here for 10 months, and has already sent a massive 2,281 games. he does really awesome giveaways, and often.
even though he's recently made a couple wishlisted giveaways for a group i'm not a member of :(
i've won six games from him now, all quality games i enjoy. any dialogue we've exchanged has indicated that he's just a good, chill guy.
sg needs more casualfilths.
[RateaxDark] (https://www.steamgifts.com/user/RateaxDark) Thanks for the all cool giveaways . in my harsh time your benevolence gave me hope.
How do i tag someone ?
You don't. That's not a feature on this site. All you can do is make a fancy link out of it by using [text here](URL here)

I'm here got this positivity!
Personally I'm super grateful for Svipur because their comments always make me smile. I don't know what it is about them that's different than other people's comments but I always appreciate seeing a Svipur comment somewhere.
I'm definitely grateful for Mouse & samwise, since their PAGYWOSG events helped me a lot as motivation for playing my SG wins, I've been participating for over a year and I'm at almost 60% beaten SG wins! :D
I watched a Northernlion video featuring Hotel Sowls & it looked really cool. I only enter GAs for games from my wishlist, so I would only enter for Hotel Sowls. :)
