Hi guys (and the occasional girls),

the last couple of days I saw a lot of Syberia games (both 1 & 2) + bundles.
Now this is a game I used to play back in the days and I was excited that it was on SG, however, the price has changed to $1,49 for the bundle, permanently, which is probably why it is on SG so much right now.
Don't get me wrong, every game that is gifted is appreciated by me and probably everyone else on here.
The fact that you still get $15 in your non-bundle game stack however, is something I get mixed feelings about, on one side it's never a bad thing that gifters get credit, though on the other hand it may be a bit "unfair" to people gifting other games.

Enlighten me and discuss ^^

Both Siberia games have been in previous bundles.
So, you will only get upto $30 CV anyways.

Didn't know that, thanks!
Not that it matters anyways, I mean, the difference between buying something @ say -90% vs -90% permanently doesn't really matter for the one receiving the game I guess.
Thanks for answering my curiousity though ;)

God, I can't wait for SG 2.0 so such questions will just stop.

Unless there'll be like "wherz CV!?!?!??!?!?!?" ones every day.

Keeps people on their toes. The value of games decreases over time. Understandable that this applies to your gifts. I don't see a problem here.

True, but the values have not been adjusted on this site, hence (15P), or did I miss something?
15P for the bundle is not adjusted to the actual price €1,49.

Now I've been told this was a bundle game, so the points awarded to the contributer would not disrupt the balance of the system, but it seems unbalanced to chip in 15P for a game that's 1,49.

I'd hardly call it a problem at this moment though.

If a game's actual price (as in not a sale) changes on steam then the points here will change to reflect that. That includes after you've concluded your GA. So if you made a GA for a $20 game 5 months ago, and the price falls to $10, then your CV goes down. All future GAs of that game will require 10 points to enter. This change doesn't always happen right away though. I'm not sure when this game's price changed but if it was recent it might just be that the site hasn't checked in with steam and updated yet.

SO what does happen to our CV's when SG v2.0 is out?

cg recently suggested a different system (on the SGv2 forum), but the discussion is pretty dead, IMHO

You mean when some games were $40, requring 40 SG Points to enter, but then the official price of it on Steam changes to something like $15, but SG still has it set to 40 Point?

Yeah that's the scenario of for example Syberia right now.
But I didn't know the accumulative value of gifts would decrease in retrospect in this case, which actually works out. Sinovera just answered it.

If the price get's changed on Steam permanently it get's updated on SG eventually, and your CV will get lower, depending on the amount it decreased. At least that's what happened to me when Bad Rats lowered in price.
