Thanks for the tip and for going to the effort to make the image too. It won't let me edit the poll though. I guess that's to stop tampering with results?

"The best" is always disputable.
I do think it stands the test of time pretty well though.

Screamadelica, Blue Lines, Cypress Hill and Step in the Arena all came out in 1991. Nevermind came out the same day. It seems unlikely.

PS. Thankyou Wikipedia.

Tough competition but I'm pretty sure Anthony Kiedis killed Kurt Cobain so the Chili Peppers win there.

I understand where you're coming from but Nevermind representing the whole disabuse generation of the time is a bit rich. Do you work for MTV?

I love Metallica's Black Album and I agree with you about Nevermind. I was just listening to BSSM and having a bit of a moment. But there are a few votes on the poll that agree with the title and I haven't voted yet.

I highly doub it. It's not even the best album of the 90s.

In case you are wondering, Ok Computer its the album of the 90s.

Recently bought this on vinyl. The bloody songs are too long to go on a record.

When I was a teen, my best friend at the time LOVED RHCP and he played them constantly.

My only respite, other than sitting at home alone, was my other friend. But she worshipped Aerosmith and had them on an endless loop.

So. TLDR; the 90's sucked, musically.

Kitt? Is that you? You told me you love the Chili Peppers. Although you also told Gina that you loved Aerosmith so I'm not really sure where you stand now.

It depends on my mood. I do sometimes think it is the best album ever, but currently I'm mostly listening to PJ Harvey.

Nice, I don't mind a bit of PJ. And you're right, mood is a definite factor, but doesn't work in a poll so well.

I could never pick one favourite album out of all the albums in the world, but when it comes to RHCP, Blood Sugar Sex Magik certainly is great.
It's hard for me to pick even from one artist their best album sometimes and RHCP is one of those bands.
If I had to choose just one, I might pick Blood Sugar Sex Magik, but Mother's Milk is pretty much dead even with it for me :D.
Even the often hated One Hot Minute is great in my opinion.
I don't really care for their first couple of albums, nor their couple latest.
They have some good tunes, but are just not great albums imo.
RHCP certainly was at their best in the 90's.

They've had their ups and downs, that's for sure. But I'm not championing any of their other albums or them as a band. Simply the experience that is Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

Don't know about the best album ever (that's kinda hard to determine tbh) but definitely my favorite RHCP album. That shit is funky as hell

It's right up there with Nevermind. It's my second favorite RHCP album, Stadium Arcadium being the first. Objectively speaking (if such thing is even possible when it comes to musical taste), BSSM is probably better, but Stadium Arcadium reminds me of my first year in college and all the wild parties at the time. :)

Have you checked out their new album, the Getaway? It's actually pretty good, even without Frusciante.

I think that's why I love BSSM so much. It was released at a time when I was revelling in my teen party days, brings back a lot of great memories and I know if I play it with certain friends there will be an instant connection.

I have only listened to a little of their new album. Seems to have a hint of the BSSM funk vibe.
