Would you like a Live Chat to be available for this website?
is not this?!?! steam://friends/joinchat/103582791432125620.
Your idea is good, problem is other people not good same you, more criminals use chat, and also who hate sg can use chat for make sg be in problem or other bad things,i think is dangerous for sg,your idea is good, but can't apply because other people bad,or if do must have 24h24h active moderators that must be very careful\fast action.

Many never ever ever use this feature..
An official discord would be more useful probably than live chat. Easier to categorize and less traffic in 1 place

Why reinvent the wheel, you can use the chat room of the steam group: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/steamgifts

There's a link at the bottom of the site.(Chat)
CG will have maintenance needs and security risks just as the components are added. There will be many other tasks for the administrator, including keeping out the bad guys.

I don't see the need to add more.
If you do add more, it offers the possibility of a nightmare of having my unimportant stories dribbled directly into your brain.

It is an unofficial though.. And most times I was on, there was almost never a discussion about steamgifts :P

Somehow warms my heart to see the current results lean on the ‘no’ side, haha. I’d personally not like this one bit because I’m not into rapidly moving live chats with countless participants, which is unfortunately what majority of internet has come to. I much more like having threads/forums/etc where you can scroll to read people’s messages at your leisure and take your time to write a reply, rather than be forced to be fast or the topic of conversation might have already passed by the time you finish typing what you had to say. Potential conversations and replies to people are also easier to manage on a forum than in live chat.

That's also true, I would never want to replace this format of discussion, but wondered what other people thought about it. It's quite as you've said, heavily inclined towards staying the same. I just discovered that there's other ways to get your message accorss quicker through Steam Chat and Discord.

I like both. My preference is forums but here they have many missing features and customization.
I miss html forums.. Meh..

i think a better suggestion would be forcing people to sign in through steam and have to comment in your trade post just to be allowed to add people for trades to cut down on the growing increase of scammers on steamtrades, if they are banned in any form it would show and disallow them
its getting outta control

SG had one way way back but pretty soon it had like 4-5 people in there and those weren't good numbers. The Steam chat for SG Steam group is way more active

I've been just thinking about this and wondered if it has been suggested in the past by the community to have a live chat. To be able to communicate easily and fast through participants and share events.
I do understand that there might be a problem with monitoring and spam detection, but if there would be a restrictive chat where you're not allowed to consequentially spam the chat and just ask every 30-60 sec that would make an interesting addition.
What do you guys think? Would you like such a thing or would it be a bad idea? Argue why would that be, but please keep it respectful.
