Your Atari 50 DLC link says 90% but it's actually 40% off.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Theoretically, if you buy the bundle, it gives you approximately 50% off each DLC, compared to 30% if you buy them individually.

It's still HL, but it'll likely drop a bit more in the future.

Hello everyone, did Cyberpunk 2077 still worth buying for 20.99€ in the sale ?

Thanks

i bought C2077 at release and it ran smoothly without any bigger bugs for me. it's definitely worth it for the story alone and for 20,99€ you cant do much wrong in my opinion

Buy the complete edition, the DLC isn't in a complete the set package so it's cheaper to just buy both at the same time.

Thanks a lot, MeguminShiro! I was looking or a thread with the deals for this sale and I didn't know it was this one. Maybe you should change the title to reflect that, otherwise it looks like it's just an announcement for the free stickers.

By the way, Zorro The Chronicles is cheaper on Green Man Gaming (2€)

wont lie, i find this to be the most underwhelming summer sale ever. companies arnt even trying to compete with their old sales, its just normal sale prices on everything. hardly any new historical lows

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

There's a difference between impressions and reality though.
According to SteamDB there are 705 new historic low prices. Sure, that includes newer games getting low discounts like 20% for the first time. It's still hundreds of games that got cheaper than ever before in this sale.

Edit: It seems that function might be broken. I get more historic low results if I filter out more games, by increasing the minimum rating.

It shows 2536 for me with a rating and discount of 0, a min price of $1 and at least 50 reviews. Any lower settings than this and I'll have to wait years for it to load.

This doesn't invalidate SeaGoblin's comment. Some newly released games getting their first time 20% discount before they fade into obscurity don't alter the general impression of Summer Sale.
In the past we had mini games, free trading cards but most important top games at prices never seen at other sales. Now they give us some worthless stickers. Steam doesn't even try to generate excitement anymore.

The topic was prices, not mini games or trading cards. Besides, you can thank cheaters and abusers for those features being history. With people using all kind of tools to win at those mini games or running tons of accounts, only to benefit from farming free cards. But as usual, people complain about the result and not about the causes.

And yes, hundreds or thousands of new historical low prices absolutely invalidate a "hardly any new historic lows" claim. The rest is, once more, purely a matter of subjective impressions.

Yes, I could blame Steam users for exploiting loopholes Steam wasn't anticipating. I prefer to view Steam as the problem. If they wanted, they could make short work of all the fake accounts but growing user numbers look good in balance sheets.

Ten years ago Steam catalogue had fewer than 8,000 items now we arrived at 170,000. Still, the main source of income for Steam and thus user interest are a few hundred games at the most. The rest is just atomistic background noise.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Do you expect new historic low prices at every second sale for those few games you don't consider "atomistic background noise", to be satisfied with the sales?

Why would anyone be motivated to rush dropping the prices ever lower for their absolute bestsellers? And what sense would it make to blame Steam for publishers not prioritizing to kill off their own moneymakers asap?

Seriously, often it's quite a challenge to see any reason behind the demands and expectations of gamers. It's usually just 99.9% entitlement.

Steam doesn't even try to generate excitement anymore.

You don't need to participate in the "bring your own dopamine" sale, if you prefer your dopamine from third party :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Don't know what that should mean exactly, buy from a third party or not at all? In a situation of unlimited supply faced with llimited demand the seller(Steam) better does all he can to attract customers thats the lesson market economics teaches us.

Steam is so sure of themselves that they think they're above such simple lessons. Let's see what that attitude brings them in the future.

It will bring them billions and billions of dollars same as always. Not having clicker events isn't changing that at all. Valve not demanding that devs offer the discount you specifically want doesn't change that. Actually, nothing changes that fact.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

If you want "excitement" from the sale, then you don't want the product, you want the thrill of buying. Hence you can GET your third party dopamine (not buying, as you wrote) elsewhere. As, if you don't have enough excitement/happiness on your own, nor the sale excites you, then maybe you should try for excitement at other places.

Btw you complain that steam sale doesn't excites you, and ignore every single feature that makes Steam is a superior platform to all when it comes to playing games. I don't mean it in a bad way, but you sound like a junkie missing their drug.

As I have a Steam account with a couple of games my supply line is secured. Steam is the platform offering the most convenience for players at present undeniably. That doesn't mean it has to stay that way forever though.

Digimon is cheaper on JoyBuggy with code WEEKEND (3,27€).

Humble Store has it slightly cheaper if you have the 20% discount from Choice (3,19€), but they're out of keys as usual

Comment has been collapsed.

Haven't been using Humble Choice in years now. I chose to spend the money on Prime subscription, offers more benefits for the same amount and I am still getting plenty of games + Luna Service and still got a sufficient selection in terms of movies and series.

As for JoyBuggy...I am always a bit skeptical with shops I haven't used b4. While the prices might be tempting, I am still not convinced trying out that shop with such mixed reviews. Same reason I am still having an eye on GameThor than rather buying there for the best price.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr Definitive Edition is again at 90% off, in my region 8.99€ instead of 89.99€. According to ITAD the historical low was a 91% discount at Gamesplanet US that could have been even for currency rates I guess.
It's a great deal, especially for people with regional discounts on Steam. I personally waited for this discount to return on Steam for a good while.

why wouldnt it be bundled? they just had the games done quick bundle where the headline game is from 1999

Steam didn't even exist in 1999.. what are you talking about? Old games from 2018 and older do get bundled sometimes but I think it's kinda rare.

EDIT: I guess you meant Roller Coaster Tycoon Deluxe. That was released on steam in 2014 and first got bundled 8 years ago. I'm talking about games that were never bundled.
