Platinum's Hour strikes again. Will you buy it?

View Results
[Buy] I can easily see myself paying this Dishonorable price for some of these titles, just because I need them in my life.
[Have] I Patched my library with these games, one by one, as I found them in previous deals.
[Skip] Oblivion is the way to go here: skip and forgot that this deal ever existed.

Kingdom Come D sounds good on paper, but it only one DLC from like 5.
Teslagrad 2 sounds pretttty good, I hope it will get into cheaper tiers or traditional bundles soonish

Oblivion is a choice from Hungary, it's just a low-stock (likely heavily region locked) version as usual

Kinda surprised by Teslagrad Remastered/2 and Fall of Porcupine given how recent they are.
Teslagrads are just shy of 4 months old, but Fall of Porcupine was released not even 2 months ago

+1

Also tempted by Patch Quest. Others that I would buy for this price if I didn't already own them: Kingdom Come Deliverance, Dishonored Death of the Outsider, Rain World, and Owlboy. Maybe Teslagrad Remastered as well if I didn't already own the original version

Where was Kingdom Come Deliverance given away for free en masse? Looks like it was July 15th, 2021.

It was given away on Epic

Really? So that makes it zero CV on Steamgifts? That seems like an odd policy.

Thanks, you learn something new every day.

Personally feel like that's an even flimsier reason to nuke its CV, but meh, it's been years since then. Not my problem anyway, KC:D's been on the wishlist for a while so I'd just keep it for myself.

Hold up - Kingdom Come was not given away by Epic on July 15th, 2021, it was given away in 2020:

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (February 13-20, 2020)

Source

So that's not the reason for zero CV.

It was evidently a free game from Intel:

I tend to check barter.vg's pages for free game notices, and for that specific game there is no free game notice. However, I did previously submit a give away notice on that page 2 years ago (2021), and it still has record of it though only I can see it because the notice was not approved. The URL I provided was this, though no longer working: https://game.intel.com/giveaway/masterofgame-2021/learn-more/

Thank you for the sleuthing-- I had checked barter as well. Here's a reference to the giveaway, I think. Not sure how I feel about this...I guess you don't want a flood of (then) 60 CV giveaways for very little effort. On the other hand, it was US only, didn't work via VPN, and I wonder how many people it really affected. Plus, it did require some effort...it wasn't exactly a mass giveaway. Oh well. None of this affects me; I was just curious.

A few other good and fairly expensive unbundled games got nuked to 0 CV as a result of that giveaway: Cuphead, Subnautica, Need for Speed™ Heat just to name a few. Feels a bit heavy-handed if you ask me especially since, looking at the archive, there were very few giveaways for those games around that time period, so hard to argue that there was CV abuse going on. IMO, it would've been better to wait for empirical evidence of CV abuse before acting. The main effect of that decision was to discourage future giveaways.

And like you said, obtaining those games required some effort which is the argument I hear against making things like Feudalife games 0 CV.

We didn't want to add it to Barter because this was an extremely exclusive giveaway. Reaching level 4 was difficult enough, but the giveaway was also restricted to some countries only (US only as far as I remember) and VPN was prohibited. Plus, you were able to select only one of the options available for each level.
Due to all these factors, we thought that there won't be many tradables anyway, so we decided against adding it. The given away flag could have been extremely misleading for future trades, when users would just consider that it was given away for free in large quantities, thus the actual trading value of the game would have decreased considerably. Obviously the same applies for all the other games from this event.
Imagine seeing STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order or Serious Sam 4 marked as given away in large enough quantities because of the green $0 on it or even having people use the corresponding Steam item instead of the Origin one as a bait (unfortunately, it happens very often with non-Steam items given away in actually large quantities, such as the ones in Prime Gaming).

Take Cuphead for example, which was reachable fairly easily compared to the other levels - there are still rather few tradables on Barter for it. Of those listed, at least 3/4 of them are fake tradables or come from grey markets; they are listed mostly by resellers who would use the game as bait for users to give them several more valuable games in exchange for it, that they will then resell for profit on the grey market.

I didn't expect SG to mark them as 0 CV and I think it's rather unfair for them to do so.

Thanks, Lilly. Agree with you and barter. Would be interested to hear the SG reasoning, but off-hand, I'm not a fan (although again, it doesn't affect me).

Beside a couple multi-repeats, this is actually a solid and tempting selection. Fanatical often gets those "mid-tier" (often not even in quality, just notoriety) indies that are very up my alley.

Some stuff off my wishlist on here, this is actually not bad. I'm a bit torn between this and the RPG Legends bundle now, eugh. I guess since this goes until September, I have until then but y'know...

I think my only complaint is that I'd rather they just not have any DLC for KC:D here than just having the one, but beggars cannot be choosers.

Update: Trading for Hero's Hour and KC:D is unavailable now. Guess I'm skipping out!

Missing 5, bought 5. I was also missing the DLC for Kingdom Come Deliverance but it's not worth buying the pack just for it.

I remember playing the Fall of Porcupine demo a couple of months ago during s Steam event, it hadn't been released yet. I'm surprised to see it on bundle so soon. I tried the demo on the Steam Deck (it crashed after the intro level) and it felt a quite nice game.

depends what you want, its not a great discount for what I want and some of it has been bundled multiple times before so they are bound to show up in mystery bundles or other bundles soon enough.

Teslagrad 2, Arcanium, and Backfirewall_ are easy choices for me. I'm considering bumping it up to the 5-choice for Hero's Hour and Rain World, but I technically already own those on the Twitch launcher, so I haven't decided if I want to drop an extra $5 just to have them on Steam.

As a fellow prime sub, I get the conflict. What helps me decide is determining if I am going to play it on my deck or if I really want the Steam features (e.g. achievements, card drops, profile stuff). Also, if you really wanted you could probably swing a trade for those two since they were in recent bundles. :)

Those cursed achievements! I'm by no means an achievement hunter, but I'd be lying if I said they didn't add some play time to certain games (Bonus goals to aim for). Thankfully these platinum bundles tend to last a month, so I've got time to decide if it's worth it.

Yes, that's a point, but on one hand, I don't really like card games and on the other hand, the art style of Patch Quest isn't really for me. :)

I have made a Bundle Splits and a member says that he does not have the Deluxe version of TES4GOTY, is a normal version. Has it happened to anyone?

Comment has been collapsed.

I had just the normal version of the goty (not deluxe) and after activating the key got the deluxe, although I had to make sure from in-game, since it never updated on the game page that I own the deluxe. One can check the dlc tab in the properties of the game, if there's Oblivion Game of the Year DLC, then it's the deluxe. Or from the launcher in-game, there're the additional dlc that only the deluxe version has.

I'm at my PC again, if I can trust the version Fanatical sells by itself, Oblivion's region lock for Hungary is Hungary only. no other country is in the green.
Bethesda games used to have Russia-Hungary-Czechia-Poland (RHCP) region because of some publisher deal? and it was expected that if the game can't be activated in any of the other three, then nowhere else either.
