I just bought the iOS port of Super Hexagon literally 5 minutes ago, and it's ported weirdly. The controls are clunky and difficult to use, unlike the much smoother ones of the PC version. (That still hasn't stopped me from already beating the normal levels and moving on to the Hyper ones <3)
Oh yeah, and Sonic Genesis port on GBA. One of the worst games EVER

After playing Fallout 3/NV on steam I realized how superior it just... felt... on pc as opposed to my ps3

Actually there's a warning at the steam store page: "Microsoft Xbox 360ยฎ Controller for Windowsยฎ (or equivalent) is strongly recommended."

+1, though for different reasons. I fell through the earth 5 times. Got stuck in an elevator once, with it juddering around like it was on the end of a rubber band. Got knocked into the wall once and couldn't get out. All progress lost in all of the previous. Plus, eventually had my save file corrupted.
2nd worst game experience for me ever.

Sounds like you had some real issues with it. I'm curious how many hours you played for to get so many glitches? I've clocked hundreds since day 1 of release on PC and never had those (but I have seen them in a few youtube vids). As for the corrupted save files, I had that twice, but restarting my PC fixed the issue.

+1 Fantastic game, absolutely awful port... But, be aware... Last time I said this on the forums, I got a lot of hate... xD

I love the game, and found no issues with control, lag, or even sound.
I don't think I've ever noticed if a game was a bad port or what, but BIT.TRIP VOID is very hard to control for me.

Well, as I mentioned before, that may have had to do with my crummy laptop. If I had played Psychonauts on Xbox or PC before playing it on PS2, then the PS2 port might have been written here instead.
As it stands, Superbrothers was the only game that I remember playing on multiple systems. So I'll chalk up the "bad port" part on my laptop. If it were bettter, this thread might not exist.
And I think Void was originally for the Wii, and I agree, it is somewhat hard to control with a mouse/keyboard. Maybe that's what the devs intended, to make it challenging...

All BIT.TRIP games were intended on Nintendo consoles and handhelds, I believe. VOID is the only BIT.TRIP game I have never beaten a single level of. (Apart from FLUX which I have never played)

I thought it was awesome on the PC. Ran smoothly on max, and the controls were normal for a stealth TPS I guess.

yeah cause you have a thermonuclear energy powered computer
clunky laptop gamer here
but i agree for the controls, they were perfect IMO.

Oh, I played many bad ports but Dead Space comes first to my mind.

I don't think it was a bad port per se, but I just didn't like the FOV at all.

Saints Row 2 - can't get the game to stop lagging and crashing and it's a very common problem.

Agree, it's one reason I regretted buying it on Steam.

Oh god, that was horrible. Biohazard 4. It didn't stop me from completing the game, but that was horrible. Mostly for the clunky aiming, no mouse support and wrong keys for quicktime events displayed. Press A B to dodge the ball...A and B? Please...

Saints Row 2 on PC,looks worse than the PS2/Xbox version and has abysmal performance issues

Yeah, this for me as well. I actually won Darksiders here on SG (TY!!) and I was excited to play it, My friend has it on his ps3 and I thought it was pretty cool back when I first tried it.
After trying it on my PC it's a whole different game, clunky and just bleh.

what are you saying?
used to play it um mi e5400@ 3.7ghz and a 9800gt at around 50fps.
with my new pc i still have to try, but i guess it will never go below 75fps (v-sync).

no you don't....
like i have commented, i used to play it on a old crappy fps with very good frame rates...

Does it REALLY run so bad? Because i have the PS3 version and on Steam, and i thought about deleting the PS3 version from my HDD (so i can install Uncharted 3) and installing the Steam version on PC.
My PC is a high-end one, i think. I got it like two weeks ago and i can run mostly anything on 60 fps (30fps on PlanetSide 2, but never below that). Maybe i can run it well on PC?

Only some people had problems with Sleeping Dogs, others were fine. Often for those who had problems they sometimes could not even play a mission otherwise it would crash.

Definitely Saints Row 2. They completely ruined the PC version of that game. The controls are so god awful it's almost unplayable. Luckily I also have it on PS3 :D
Plus they couldn't even port over the god damn DLC from the console version because of some sort of "technical difficulty" or some shit.

The controls feel so broken because the game is broken on a far more fundamental level. Game speed is directly linked to processor speed, so if your processor is not exactly as strong as the game expects it to be (360 processor speed), it will run faster.
This makes actually controlling things really hard (in particular cars). Also, it causes issues if you try to play the game in multiplayer (certain missions are on a timer, and the person with the faster processor will see his/her timer move faster (and thus this can end the mission even if it says that there are several seconds left on the other player's screen)).
Also, moving at super speed means that your computer will have a hard time actually keeping up with you, so you'll see horrible popin (in particular if you are in a fast car) and you'll also probably suffer from bad slowdown.
So yes, SR2 is one of the worst ports I've ever played, at least on this side of 2000.

Saints Row 2 got ported by some obscure cheapo European developer THQ outsourced it to rather than have Volition do it. I think they disappeared or something and that's why no more patches ever came after the first one.
Because of how that whole thing was handled (apparently THQ just dumped them the console assets and said "make it work") is a big reason why Volition had their friends (former coworkers) do the port for RFG and then brought them all in house.

2D fighting games on the PS1 in general had issues. The system wasn't made for 2D graphics and lack of RAM meant animation was cut. I want to recall Samurai Shodown 3 was a pretty bad port, but I don't remember what they messed up.
As for KOF's load times, that was just an issue with disc games in general, made worse by KOF's team format. If you want bad load times in an SNK game, play the Samurai Shodown RPG on any system. You were sitting at a load screen for a half minute just for entering or exiting a shop. (But that was apparently true even on the NeoGeo CD, so it wouldn't technically be a port issue.)

Sonic Generations....even with a gamepad, it was god awful. I guess it only works properly with an Xbox Controller and nothing else.

It's been awhile since I even bothered with it. Don't remember exactly, but just certainly didn't control very well...not like what I remember from the Genesis days. But no, didn't try x360ce.

Simple question for all you forum-dwellers: what's the worst port of a game you've ever played?
For me, it's Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP on PC. I just recently downloaded an Android port, and it plays much, much smoother than it did on my laptop (then again, my laptop wasn't exactly made for gaming). The controls seemed sluggish on the computer (especially for fighting the Gold Trigon), and I don't recall hearing much of the games incredible score, even with headphones. If the Steam version didn't have Achievements, I probably wouldn't play it again anytime soon.
