Thoughts?
I can relate to pushing games down the line haha. I quite enjoyed 5, but I also played through it co-op so also had someone else to make the game more fun.
To be honest, I don't liked the look of 6 too much, but its one of the few AAA games that you can play though the whole game co-op so im still looking forward to it.
If only, one can dream.

Right? Why is it so hard? I guess big studios prefer investing into multiplayer that are going to make you spend money than in proper campaign co-op.

I enjoyed Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3, Far Cry 5 & New Dawn
Loved Far Cry 4
Far Cry 6 was disappointing. Just ok.

sooner Ubisoft are back on Steam with new games the better

I really want Watch Dogs Legion and I can get it for £6.50 with this coupon, I'm actually torn. lol
Comment has been collapsed.
It's completely up to you. I don't want to have my games split up into different librarys. If I buy Watch Dogs 1 and 2 on Steam I expect 3 (legion) to be there too.
The price is decent (i guess?) and if you can live with the fact that you start legion on ubisoft only sure i guess.
It's just my personal preferences

I found it decent but perhaps I'm just not well versed in sales. From the post on /r/gamedeals the other day, it seemed like a good fire sale kind of scenario. Like I don't think it really wins for something very new like Assassin's Creed Vahalla or Far Cry 6, but the older games it should be some of the best stuff as long as you play "make the $15". Which is not helped by the mess of additions they have around.
For a personal example, Assassin's Creed Origins (prices in USD)
Base game: $9
Deluxe: $14
Season Pass: $12
Gold: $99 (for whatever stupid reason).
But gold is Base game + Deluxe + season pass.
So your gut might say go get Deluxe + Season pass for $26 but that's the wrong way. Because the coupon is reusable.
So you can buy base game for $9 and buy the deluxe upgrade DLC for $3 (not deluxe itself) for a subtotal of $12. Then you can round it off with something else you might like (or just want to collect) like 2 Prince of Persia games for $2 each. So that becomes $16 pre-taxes. Then the coupon applies to bring it down to $6.
Then you repeat that process for the season pass. Heck if you want to save a little more, you could just buy the dlc expansions 1 and 2 and skip the costume stuff.
So my full combo list that I went through after taxes is:
AC Origins(base) + Deluxe Upgrade + PoP:Warrior Within + Pop: The Two Thrones = $6.58
AC Origins(season pass) + AC Freedom Cry = $6.32
AC Odyssey(base) = $5.49
AC Odyssey(season pass, comes with AC 3 Remastered for some reason) = $6.59
AC Revelations + Far Cry Primal (Apex Edition) = $5.86
But remember to enter the coupon code every time. I messed up once(the AC Revelations order). Realized it today but I got a refund. However, I took it in wallet so I could repurchase faster so it's not really a true refund (second mistake). But somewhere down the line now that I've bought from them once, perhaps that remaining $10 will come into play if I'm interested in AC Valhalla when the next one comes out and they drop prices on this one too.
And a second warning but I didn't have to deal with it myself, ensure you check edition. Immortals Fenyx Rising comes up on sale but it is not for PC Download but physical copies of the game, so if you choose PC Download, it'll come up as $59.99 instead of $16.80. I think a similar issue occurs with Watch Dogs Legion.

Yeah it's incredibly silly the way they have it setup but I think epic's last sale had a reusable coupon as well (I didn't buy) so they're probably following suit with that.
Honestly, only thing I really needed was AC Revelations as I've been meaning to come back to it for years. I'd already played Origins when they had a month of Ubisoft+ for $1 one time. But now I can go back to it later if I feel like the doing the DLC.

I honestly can't give real advice for the series itself. I've dropped in and out due to not having a capable system (or getting freebies/cheap ones)
So I played AC1->AC:Brotherhood->8(?) year break->AC:Origins and now going back for Revelations.
But the reason I want to bring that up specifically is there's a reason I played Origins when I could. I looked into it and it seemed to be the start of a different storyline so me missing stuff didn't matter as much. But more importantly, the environment being Egypt was pretty unique. Although I did get expectation whiplash from finding out backstabs were no longer instant kills in many cases due to enemy scaling involvement.
Anyway, none of this is to say you'd actually enjoy any of the newer games. I definitely wouldn't recommend picking them all up. But if one has an environment you like, give it a look if you get it around $5. This is also why I'm anti Valhalla for myself right now. Base game seems to be 100 hours. Even if it's great, I'm not looking for that level of investment right now. And by the time I am, it'll probably be cheaper.

yeah I can understand. I also had interest in the Yakuza games a bit when they were on Gamepass but also avoided them because I wasn't ready for a big time commitment. Games with lots of hours are great value for money..until you start getting a ton of them haha.
So enjoy the Yakuza series, this sale will likely return in some form and if these interest you down the line, then you can revisit this next year (?).

I'm not a strict 100%er kind of guy, but I'll get reasonably close in the progression of natural gameplay and if I like it enough then I'll go all the way. That said, this further proves the point I don't need Valhalla any time soon haha.
Comment has been collapsed.
yeah it's too much of an investment for now if you're not a big fan. I see mixed opinions about the dlc anyway (more so the SP ones) like they're more of the same, which is good if you like it but too much for me to shell out before even touching the game.
I've bought complete collections of some other games and wouldn't even get to the DLC. But at least in those cases, it was like a few dollars difference.
Comment has been collapsed.
I like the games, but in general, there are too much DLC for my taste. I don't like DLCs with aesthetics and only buy DLCs which add content to the game.
Valhalla is the only game missing in the series, but the Ragnarok DLC isn't on sale, so it woul cost about 20€ alone when you use the coupon.
Comment has been collapsed.
That's fine. I take cosmetic dlc as part of collection like scenarios, otherwise I wouldn't do it. Not for this series at least, that's more of a f2p game supporting kinda thing for me, but that's a whole different discussion lol.
Back to Ragnarok, seems like it's an easy choice. Skip, come back next year. So unless it is really calling out to you strongly to play, then I'd do that.
Comment has been collapsed.
I meant cosmetics, sorry, my bad. Ok, for a good f2p game I'd also buy some cosmetic DLC just to support the devs.
Regarding Ragnarok - I am on the fence. Sure, I could also play the rest of the game and come back later, but on the other hand, I don't like having something "incomplete".
Comment has been collapsed.
Right but I can't speak for what's an acceptable price point for you or how much you like the series, I can only speak from my standpoint.
I see the easiest option as just not getting this until next year or so. Best savings and you probably have other stuff to play. If this turns out to be real, it'll probably be the next opportunity for a price drop on this.

Oh no need to apologize, I was just putting my stance out there. Have fun with it down the line in either case. I may yet catch up one day but for now, Revelations it is haha.

I'd really like to play Immortals Fenyx Rising, so I'd genuinely consider buying it with this coupon on the ubi store. But it's not on sale (with a discount). Guess I won't throw my money into a trash company this time.
Edit: I know it's on sale on the epic games store, but the coupon they're offering there is not as good.
Comment has been collapsed.
Lol sale manipulation right there. Imagine making a sale and not putting a game that goes into sales often in that same sale you just made... Sounds fishy as hell.
This sale is good if you buy the cheaper games, i usually don't pay more than 7.5€ for ubisoft games, i used to buy on epic games with coupons, but last year i bought a bunch of the classic titles using this coupon from ubisoft, could easily add up games to around 15€ and then use coupon to make it 5€ or so. Bought like 45€+ worth of games during sale prices and spent like 17€ or so.

Ah, you can't combine promotions like Epic (or maybe some games are ineligible). That's a no go for me. I wanted to buy The Settlers for some nostalgia play, and it wouldn't apply the coupon because it's already discounted.
Comment has been collapsed.
if you are talking about the new The settlers it isnt discounted but it might not work because its a preorder. Other than that as long as its not ingame currency it should work even if its already discounted and over your regional minimum price threshold.

i wanted to buy ac:valhalla season pass, but it doesnt include ragnarok expansion. Nope then for me

i bought UNO dlc valhalla+ far cry primal (i have venja pack) + silent hunter 3 (lowest price in store) =5$
2) - far cry new dawn complete (_far cry 5) (i have all dlc for these two games)= 7 $
and i'm thinking about the crew 2 gold edition - 5 dollars (but i noticed so many bad reviews on this game)

They allow you to purchase games you already own? They dont give keys when you buy so how does this work out? >.<
Comment has been collapsed.
well their library is much much smaller than Steam's of course, so by allowing duplicate purchases, someone can still benefit from the $10 coupons.
Or more realistically, it's an oversight and someone couldn't be bothered to enforce 1 time purchases, so they rather allow user error and let the automatic refund system handle it. Best case scenario for them, the user doesn't realize and doesn't refund it.

ha, i was like hmmmmmm, do i get keys for these or does it just add it to my account, that is a neat use though, purchase the same title to get to the $15 mark

Cold Fear, Far Cry, Rainbow Six, Rainbow Six 3, Rainbow Six Lockdown, Splinter Cell Double Agent.
$5 Total with the coupon code.

i have a hard time finding a reason to buy their games when i can pay (i think) $15 for a month's access to their entire catalog, including dlc. they have fun single player experiences like assassin's creed and far cry, but i wouldn't have any reason to continue playing after beating them.
Comment has been collapsed.
I would generally agree but it also depends on the amount of time you feel you'd manage in that month versus other games you may play as well as how much of a completionist you are. Like I basically beat AC Origins in the month I had Ubisoft+ for $1 one time, but it was basically all I played during that month (64 hours for 90%, possibly slow by HLTB standards and I didn't get to all of the dlc).
So I could sub again or just buy it and some other games for the same price and not be concerned about racing a month time limit for the sub.
But if you want their new stuff, then yeah I'd say Ubisoft+ is the way. Or if you're unsure about a series, Ubisoft+ gives someone the ability to try them all much cheaper than buying.
Comment has been collapsed.
i did that $1 trial deal they had several months ago and it really did take me almost the entire month to 100% ac valhalla, including all the dlc. according to my stats i logged 164 hours. i did have a few days left to start another game but i didn't wanna get into something only to be cut off before i could finish it. i do have to disagree with your statement though because afaik, the price of one assassin's creed or far cry title with all its dlc costs more than $15. as long as you can go through all the content within a month, it's better to go with a monthly sub.
Comment has been collapsed.
just explaining why the $15 sub makes more sense to me... just gotta be sure i'm ready to commit the time towards getting the most of it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you split up your purchases right, you can get Anno 1800 and Seasons 1-3 for about $25. Anno 1800 itself, after code, is about $10; each of the first three season passes is about $12.50. If you buy each pass separately, with a smaller game added to your cart (for instance, the Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia games are usually about $2.50 each), you can buy each pass for about $5 after code. That gets you the majority of the DLC, except for the latest season.
Comment has been collapsed.
Anno 1800 is very worth it if you like these games and split up buying the dlcs. I wish I had waited for these kind of sales.
Ended up getting rainbow six seige and a uno dlc for $5. And Watchdogs Legion + season pass separately for about $25 total. It's meh but Far Cry 6 is still too expensive even with the promo code, I would've grabbed it at $20.

Got Division 2 Warlords of New York Edition and Far Cry also to top up to 15$ exactly, making it only 5$ total spend.
