Because the base price still hasn't changed and those on ebay are probably Russian keys or something.

And second problem is that in Poland we cant see Skyrim on Store " The product is currently unavailable in your region "

what

this is because they have some crappy deal with normal "boxed" distribution... so you either buy it in box or you can't play it ;/

Because people are still buying it in high numbers. Skyrim has consistently stayed in the "Top Sellers" section of the Steam storefront since it came out.

Why would Bethesda lower the price if plenty of people are still lining up to throw money down on it?

Well lets say in Poland keys cost like 5-7,50euro less than box version but now its like 1-3 euro less damn wtf 5months ago was aloot cheaper;/ and yeah on steam store game is " The product is currently unavailable in your region "

cause in Poland there is another Publisher holding the rights on Skyrim thus Steam isn't allowed to sell it there. And well, Skyrim is a topseller, why should they lower the price?

the game is actually pretty good unless you played another tryarch game. in that case then it will probably feel like an attempt to steal the glory from MW

The paid internet bandwidth needed to download Black Ops is already a waste of money.

Ah yeh. But you could still get it as a gift from someone right? Not entirely sure how all this region restriction works actually...

Dawnguard still has a bunch of major bugs. Wait until it's been patched.

id read that Valve gonna fight with things like that if you are in region where game is not available but someone gifted it to you it gonna be deleted , same with keys etc..

And even when the skyrim ll be 50% discount it ll still cost more than here in Poland yeah poor country :!

And that's because both Valve and the game publisher lose money when people buy games from cheaper regions, and I'm pretty sure it's against the subscriber agreement.

Think again! Thats mean currently the Central European players can't buy The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard from same reason. The publisher can't sell boxed version, the Steam can't sell digital version. Meanwhile the Dawnguard DLC available on Russian Steam (ca. 50% cheaper than in Western Europe).

Here (in Central Europe) we are full member of EU. Absolutely unnecessary thats discrimination from other members of EU.

Central Europe? Is Germany also Central Europe? I'd say so as it is right in the centre...And I can buy boxed copies or the Steam version without any problems.

Well, eastern europe is restricted for long known reasons. Which are absolutely fair I'd say.

Besides the new DLC which was released recently Elder Scrolls game prices rarely drop below $20 (e.g. Morrowind).

How do people in Poland get the Dawnguard dlc ? Are there retail code-in-a-box editions ?

1 decade ago
Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Not possible to buy now! No retail box version, and not available on Steam Store. The publisher prohibited any legal buying from any shop. That's the big problem. The next problem is the price. 20 EUR too much for a DLC. The base game (retail box) on same price this countries. Do you buy Dawnguard for 50-60 EUR? I don't think so!

personally i would buy most bethesda game for 100 euro. the amount of content and the high quality "mythos" that they make is simply outstanding. i wish there were more developers trying to make skyrim clones
