Use AC3 codecs. You can handle all audio the way you want.
Also, you should have options in your soundcard to manage this.
Plus, you always can get the rear speakers and put those physically in the extreme right and left. Rear|Left|Center|Right|Rear

Control Panel - Sound - Playback Tab - select your speakers - Properties - Enhancements tab - Speaker Fill. I would normally oppose such a practice, but I guess it's acceptable for music. ;)

Hi,
I have small problem to solve and maybe someone from you know how to help me. When I'm listening music on my computer and only 2 audio channels are used my 5.1 Speakers are useless. Question:
Do you have any idea what I have to change in Windows 7 or maybe what software I need to install to hear 1(Left) channel in Front Left+Rear Left speaker ? The same for the right side of course.
Solution looks simple: channel need to be duplicated and send to both speakers but how ? Thanks in advance.
