My first original(i think?) game I own. Had to convince my mother to buy it for me, said it was tactical strategy and stuff - a very intelligent game to play.

..I just hope they don't fail thoroughly as the [original?] team doing AOE 2 HD did. It was shamefully bad on release. I have not checked on it recently as it depresses me that they butchered my all time favorite game so badly. :( Has it improved significantly??

I've got AoE II HD and I don't think that there is anything particularly bad or too far from the original game...?

On release and for a long time after the game was terribly buggy and the performance was unplayable bad even on my high end rig. Multiplayer was not functional at all due to disconnects and lag etc. This was the situation for most people.
They changed the farms and cliffs graphics to new, terrible ones too :P But I think they changed the farms back to the old ones. Not sure of the cliffs
For such a classic that so many love, it deserved a much better release.

Works fine for me on my mediocre laptop... But then again, I seem to get lucky with some things. Skyrim ran without any crashes to desktop on release day for me whilst people with top-of-the-range computer kit were experiencing game breaking bugs and constant crashes.
