OK, so I did a giveaway for a DLC for P.A.M that ended last night.

I sent the winner the code via email and I also sent him a friend request on Steam.

I've been out all day and just got home, logged in and checked my email/Steamgifts etc.

I come to find out that the guy blocked me on Steam and since it's a DLC I have no way of knowing whether he actually used the key (I have the DLC already)

Any suggestions?

It's only been about a day since it ended but being blocked by the guy is just plain rude...

I bought another key for the off chance that he goes another 6 days being a rude little douche and I request a new winner...

Sadly I won't be posting his name as it's against the rules here but it's kind of messed up if this guy scams a free DLC, even if it's only $1.99, it's the principal of the matter... /rant

Some people auto-block on random adds.

Not really a random add as he can see that he won a giveaway created by me... :/

He's been online numerous times since it ended and he's received email from me with my Steam ID along with the key.

He might've not checked steamgifts yet (online status being pulled from steam community api). I suggest waiting instead of being frustrated - who knows what he could be doing. Worst case scenario, reroll.

It marks you as online here even if you're not signed in/browsing the site? o_O

That's kind of silly.

Yeah, I have another key for the DLC already in case I have to re-roll, I'll post the key sent to him in this thread if it comes to that. Free stuff (maybe?o_O) for you guys in 6 days. lol :p

I sent one of them a friend request, we shall see if he adds me or not.

It's not like my account looks like a beggar or anything... I'm level 6 and I have over 400 games FFS. o_O

lol I'm not going to go that far over a $1.99 DLC.

I'll just wait the 7 days and re-roll it, I've already bought another key for it anyway, no big deal.

Come with some proof you send the dlc, if he not confirm on site the giveaway on 7 days, just ban.

I have proof as well, I hope it doesn't come to that and it's like others in this thread have said, that he actually hasn't been online on steamgifts, just on Steam and didn't recognize my Steam ID.

I only wanted to give him free stuff. lol :p

This is why I always add people and confirm they add stuff. Possibly try emailing him again asking him?

Yeah, I was half asleep when I sent him the key. >_< I usually never do that.

I sent him another email a few hours later that was very detailed with all my info etc.

Well in his defense, he's not a wanker for another 6 days. lol :p

wait a week and see if he marks the gift as received, if not open a ticket with a screenshot that proofs that you did send the mail with the key, that should work.

i had a guy who changed the status 13 month after he received the key via mail and marked it as received, to not received, i opend a ticket did take a screenshot of my mail and the mods are now fixing it.

but yeah the blocking part is not cool ...

i won prison architect 10 days ago, i added the guy on steam. he declined and blocked me and since then didnt show up on steam again (from what i can tell from his profile here)

That's pretty low. :/

I've got all the proof that I'll need for a support ticket saved on my PC and in my email. :D

Edit: Wow that really sucks. :( Prison Architect is an awesome game that's quite pricey on Steam. o_O I'd love to play it but I can't afford the $30 right now and I can't get it on other site deleted. o_O

oh yes its a cool game and on my wishlist and i would have bought it anyway after release when the price drops a bit. but now it kinda sucks to buy a game when you know you actually already won it ... :) well anyway its 10 days now but i didnt mark him as not received, i still have hope that he will deliver, so far he always did.

I feel the same way about Renegade Ops, I won it almost a year ago, didn't receive it and can't bring myself to buy it. :(

I have joined every single giveaway for it since though with no luck. oO One day though... (⌐■■)

Key drop the key. If it doesn't work, he activated it. If it does work ... well, teaches him not to be such a bastard.

I won't do that as it would 99% for sure blow up in my face and I'd look like the douche. lol

I'm too nice a guy to do that if it's most likely a misunderstanding of some sort, he may not speak English.

I bought Game Dev Tycoon on their site and it's been Greenlit. In August or something, it'll be fully released on Steam and everyone who bought a copy from their website gets a steam key for Steam :D

Mail them first asking them to respond and confirm that that is their email, that is what I always do with keys. I also try to leave things such as "won" and "free" out of the email.
