If they take these Steam-prices to cover 75€ in 4 games they gonna have a bad time.
Comment has been collapsed.
It can still happen. Remember that FF7 when released on steam, did not take long before it started going on sales. Not only on steam but also on other sites.. but.. you have a high chance of being correct :P

The list of recommended requirements seems quite promising as to the standard of some of the games they may throw in, I just hope that each one is different. Nice idea Square!

My guess is the same as yours. I just checked the price of tomb raider of their EU store. It is 49.99 EURO. So the value of tomb raider + hitman + sleeping dogs + deus ex would be over 90 EURO, then they should have said the box of games worth over 90 EURO, that is way tempting. But the system requirement is similar to tomb raider, so I don't know, maybe system requirement is just a trick?

The Square Enix Christmas Surprise is an incredible holiday assortment packed full of games worth over £50 (RRP or equivalent) - available for a limited time only exclusively to the Square Enix Store.
It seems they could be very new games

The recommended specs are exactly same as those for Tomb Raider.
Coincedence? Could be, but if I had to guess I'd now be guessing that was in the box.
Comment has been collapsed.
But Tomb Raider is 50€ in their store! It means the 3 other games would value as 25€... 10+10+5? Looks unlikely...
Comment has been collapsed.
What... Do you think they can't afford to cut prices? Steam has sales all the time, did you not notice prices being cut? God damn it man...
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not that they can't afford to cut prices, it's that the normal price is (pretty widely) concidered 50 euro's for Tomb Raider. Even if they cut it in half, the pack would still be worth 50 euro's + the 3 other games, which could easily get them over the 90 euro's mark. And it that case, wouldn't it make more sense to advertise with that, rather than saying it's worth is over 75E?

I wonder if they could be using some of the same games that are currently in the Square Enix build-a-bundle at Gamefly?
I might go for this.

I'd be hoping that Hitman Absolution would be in there somewhere. Sounds like a plan regarding gifts if we don't get what we want.

most likely one or two of those: Tomb Raider, Hitman, Sleeping Dogs and Deus Ex like on all the other square enix sales in last weeks/months and 2-3 cheap oldies, since they say the value is 75€ from their prices it cant be that much since their prices are ridiculous like 49,99 for Tomb Raider.

I am guessing this doesn't work for people in the US...thats a shame.. I'm feeling lucky today.
Comment has been collapsed.
That is nice that they are doing this. Too bad for us in the US :P
Does not bother me too much though as I already own a good portion of their PC games.
Exception being most of the Tomb Raider games, very few other games, FF8 being one of em. Will prob end up getting FF8 next month. This month.. well.. my spending cash is gone already lol.
Some things for people I know, some things for myself.. and some.. unfortunate, and unexpected things happened that is not exactly cheap to get repaired ><

You might be able to buy it outside Europe using a VPR setup, but you run the risk of wasting, what—10 dollars, give or take?—on region-locked software. The site does say it's giftable, so you can get a European friend to buy it for you.

List of ALL Steam Games they have in their store:

I guess they will only be games which are on their store, not on Steam only.

Sink or Swim
I've just bought it... bhaah... it was kinda on spur of moment. Now rational part of me is trying to kill me for using money on something which may or may not be worth it. Anyway...
I'm kinda hoping for something more than steam keys (lil bonus would be nice). The best scenario (99.99999% not possible) is getting A Realm Reborn on PC... it would be nice. Well I have it already on PS3 (and never played it yet) but yeah... nevertheless it would be nice.
And one more thing, maybe it would be good idea to connect your steam and PSN account to Square-Enix page. Maybe (just maybe) we won't get games that we already have that way...

I guess Just Cause 2 will be one of them. The multiplayer mod will be out in 4 days

Sounds reeeealy stretchy... especially considering how overpriced some Square Enix are. That box can hold just about anything.
Plus they haven't had a Humble Bundle yet, which has been speculated for quite a while. Nothing's stopping them from getting some income with this mystery box thing and immediately after that having a Humble Weekly or something with the exact same games and maybe some more added into the mix.
All in all, getting this box thing is a risky move. :P

Well, that sucks. I was all ready to take a chance and drop $9 on it and now I'm reading it's not for the US at all. Their loss.

You can get it via Opium Pulses $avings partner, Renjility.

no because they will sent out keys on the 20th, so nobody know what's inside before that date

This would be my vote. I reckon Sleeping Dogs and/or Deus Ex: HR are strong contenders, FFVII seems pretty plausible also. I wouldn't hold high hopes for FFVIII since bundling/package dealing/whatevering new releases rarely ever happens.

Well I would, but it wont let me.
"To purchase goods from the Square Enix Online Store you are required to provide a full name and valid postal address. Please click on the downward arrow next to your avatar in the top right and select "Billing Address" to update your profile."
Which I have done. Oh well, I'll see if it works tomorrow.

At least you aren't treaten like a child. I need to wait till 11 pm because of youth protection restrictions in Germany, which prevents anyone from buying 18+ titles in times other than 11pm - 6 am.
That includes Uplay web stores, any other onine key reseller, Origin etc.
Steam thankfully doesn't have that, at least I never experienced it, but I rarely buy games myself on steam these days.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't think so, seeing as it is around 8 $ for games valued at 50-75 $ (who knows if that is EUR1 or EUR2 pricing), meaning it's a discount of around 80-90 %, and we've seen games stay away from the bundle list with those discounts before.
Comment has been collapsed.
I have been wondering: If they have this differentiation with buyers from Germany wouldn't they also make a different box for them with low violence versions (if such games were included)? Might make this a bad deal especially if you want to create a giveaway with the already owned titles...
