I have some questions:
What do the shirts look like?
Do you ship them everywhere in the world?
Do we have to pay extra for shipping?
Can we choose sizes?
I pre-ordered this bundle but it did not ask for email or gave me a link or anything something wrong???
Best regards.

Seriously, this post. So much this goddamn post. They really should have been smart enough to answer those questions without prompting.

someone said this in chat http://www.charitywater.org/ lol don't know if it's true
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, normally they say which charity they are supporting right? on one of the pages it says "water charity" and on main page just says it will go to helping people without clean water. And is taking a 20% cut of the profit normal for indiebundle sites to take? Maybe, that is why price is so high so they can ensure a nice profit lol.
Comment has been collapsed.
If they don't say where the money for charity go it's because there's not an actual agreement with a charity org, so, they don't need to do it at all
And, I don't think the designer of the bundle will go to Bolivia to deliver bottled water to those who need it

only Runespell is steamplay. not buying something like that.

What do you mean? They say the bundle is steam activable.

It's either a scam or Ocean Marketing all over again. I think I'm going to pass on this, because either way it's fucking stupid of them. If they clear all this up and apologize I'd reconsider, but seriously. That article and the followup make me wary as shit, especially because of how they handled the accusations.
Comment has been collapsed.
The Bundle is legit, which has been confirmed by all the devs.
However the site's handling of the cd-key paid advertiser is very Ocean Marketing worthy. I thought the bundle had minimal value to me since I had most of the games I wanted. The current debacle with the cd-key advertiser really just shows incredibly poor judgment on the site admin's part. the fact that he still doesn't really understand what the fuss was about really makes me wonder.

Your meme recognition liscence is hereby revoked

I see a long, boring e-mail hatefest copy-pasted onto a page related to a mediocre webcomic that panders to the gaming community with a single poorly-spelled Twitter thingy (I despise Twitter, so I don't know the proper term), no doubt a result of a lack of availability, at the end. It's not funny, nor is it popular enough to even turn up any search results that aren't typos. How is that a meme?
Comment has been collapsed.
there was a second half to that story, which they didn't link to there apparently. And I don't care enough to find it now, but essentially: people made fun of him for misspelling his twitter tag, so he changed it... and misspelled it again. Maybe not a meme, but it's part of the joke relating to Ocean Marketing and I didn't really want to spend 5 minutes exlpaining that. But here we are.

Those screenshots are not really helping make the bundle look better, considering the group admins posted those.
Fun read though...thanks for the links.

I'm surely not gonna buy it. I don't like the games, the price is too damn high and it doesn't look trustfull, after seeing lawpetv's post.
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess I'll also pass. 8$ isn't bad, but I already own 3 games and the games all (or most) are pretty mediocre, they aren't bad, but also not that good.. The only game that really interests me is Sol Survivor, I think I'll just get that when it's on sale :D Would be fine with 5$, but not 8^^
And then that "disaster" yesterday.... ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
Wow. That was one of the worst trailers I've ever seen in my life. Disregarding the godawful musical choice, it barely shows any gameplay that says "You must buy this", just enough to show you what genre the game is. On top of that, they can't seem to decide whether they should focus on developer names or the game names, giving five seconds of the game name to some games, a tiny flash on the screen to Runespell. Whoever thought that trailer was a good idea has as much sense as a teenager who did their first Naruto music video set to some emo band.

Don't judge a book by its cover is a massively stupid thing to say if you're trying to advertise something. They are trying to sell these games to the people who've never heard of them before. They have massively failed at that. I actually already knew what I was getting out of this bundle and I was still almost put off buying them. If you're trying to market something, damn right I'm going to judge your product based on the quality of your marketing.
Comment has been collapsed.
I agree that the trailer's quality may have no bearing on the actual product. But really, say you've never heard of these games before. How would that trailer possibly convince you to even look at the games further? Yes, some trailers are shitty and don't give enough. Yes, some trailers are fantastic and the product turns out to be be bullshit. But it's a very reasonable assumption to see a trailer and base your willingness to spend money on this product upon said trailer. They are advertising their product and they are doing it poorly. If I was to make a new kind of cereal and advertise it as "tastes slightly more like shit than wood chippings!", even if it was the most amazing cereal known to mankind, my advertisements would not be the cause of any success. It would have to be word of mouth, which I pray this bundle gets enough of to counter-act the shitty official marketing.

"But it's a very reasonable assumption to see a trailer and base your willingness to spend money on this product upon said trailer."
Maybe you base your willingness to buy a product on short trailers that barely if at all show you what the product is actually like, but I in no way see that to be reasonable.
It is kind of how the world works though. If people see a good advert they will buy something in droves even if it's inferior to other products out there. But I don't see that as a reasonable decision, nor do I partake in such behaviours.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, I do research, hence why I'm still interested in the games. But I'm also more willing to do said research if the marketing showed that I might at all be interested in it. If I see something that looks like the most boring crap imaginable, I may look at the product in passing, but I'll be unlikely to do any serious research. If it looks good, or at least intriguing, I'll start going through p/reviews to see what it's like. But that is my own choice. Marketing should not be "make the customer look up out product to see what the smeg it is." Marketing should be about making your customer interested by throwing out all the great things about your product in a quick, easy to remember advert. It should never fall on the customer to find out what your product is because your marketing didn't make that clear (unless, of course, that's the point of the marketing, such as with ARGs).
I saw that trailer and I can sincerely say that I have forgotten the name of every game in that bundle unless I actively think about it and I already own two of them. I'm not going to waste my time looking up a game about closing doors because that was the best footage the trailer guys could think of to use. Show me something to grab my attention and hold it. Show me something to care. Most importantly, show me what your product actually is. It should never fall on the customer to fix your lazy marketing. If it does, you've failed and there's a good chance your product will fail if word of mouth doesn't get around.
Comment has been collapsed.
I guess what it comes down to is some people buy products that marketing teams tell them are good, and some people seek out what are actually the best experiences they can have.
I am very much in the latter category, and rarely if ever pay much attention or mind to marketing at all. You can tell me what good marketing is or what marketing should do or how much marketing influences you, but to me I'd rather just ignore marketing entirely or at the very most take it incredibly lightly.
I feel like we agree on most levels, I just disagree with your statement that basing the value of a product on it's marketing is VERY reasonable. Personally if I'm being told by a company that is getting paid to tell me a product is good, that a product is good, I don't find that to be a very reliable source of information nor do I think it's reasonable to use that message as a basis for how good the product actually is.

I actually became confused as to what games corresponded to which names.
Okay, so first, we see an intro. Cool.
Then we get scenes of something happening...except that's just a developer's splash screen. And it...sits there for a moment.
Greed logo now. ...really, this is going to sit there for a moment too?
Okay, I'm guessing this is Greed gameplay. So we've established a convention that title is displayed before gameplay samples. Got it. Looks like a 3/4-view action/exploration. And we have...closing doors. And closing doors. And closing doors. Is this game about closing doors? I mean, i can see right after that we have a few explosions and shots fired, but...
Okay, next game...Still Life. ...2. ...and then a black screen. That's not the game, is it?
...
...okay, suddenly we have an aerial overview of a map combined with an image of zombie Mr. Bean. Another aerial overview with an image of some woman. And again, but with an image of a slightly-creepy goateed man. Who are these people? Is Still Life a story about them?
And now we get scenes of gameplay. The text occasionally overlaid on them, as well as the scenes displayed, suggest that this is an RTS game with tower defence elements. Is this Still Life 2? I mean, that doesn't sound like the right title, but keep in mind I have no idea of what sorts of games these games are.
1:51
this has been Sol Survivor all along? Then what is Still Life 2? Just those first three aerial map views? Just the people? Just the black screen?
"a fun and welcome relief"
No, this is definitely not. I'm still confused as all hell.
...okay, these Sol Survivor trailer samples have been going on for a while now. Next game please?
...and the video cuts away from the Sol Survivor title screen so fast I can't even see the subtitle. Sigh.
Clockstone. That...isn't the name of a game...is it?
Okay, here's Avencast. I think this is the name of one of the games. ...yeah, this is a game all right. They're giving backstory.
...hot damn, that character runs fast.
But, how exactly does the gameplay work? I'm only ever shown brief, fleeting scenes from this game. Do we have a Diablo/Torchlight-like control scheme (which seems most likely) or am I ordering the character (and camera rotation) around by directional keypad? I really, really can't tell. The most I can tell is that character is probably using magic to destroy stuf--
More modern game. I thought game titles were displayed first...and this definitely isn't Avencast. At least, I'm pretty sure it isn't.
So, guy with flashlight and gun running around at night. Looking for something. "CAN YOU SURVIVE..."--okay, it's probably something involving zombies. Probably whichever title had "Dead" in the name.
Now he's filling a zombie giant gorilla with bullets.
...except I can't even tell that they're zombies. I'm watching the video at highest quality available (480p) and...all those things that are getting blown to pieces look like are vaguely humanoid figures chasing down the guy at the center of the screen. Suddenly, driving a van. Then it now confirms the name: Dead Horde.
Okay, fine, game names at end of segments.
This next game's trailer clips look...a bit too much like those web advertisements for f2p MMORPGs. I guess this is an MMORPG too...and look, there's even an Evony Ad Girl. So it's gotta be a fantasy RPG of so--waaaaaaaaitaminute, is that SOLITAIRE??? Or...poker...? Okay, I'm really confused now.
So it's the one called Runespell, cool. And what did that subti--
2D action game? 2D action combat game with PVP elements? ...doesn't look...all that exciting. And the player's character just got killed, so now here's more leaderboard action. And more gameplay scree--"You cannot shoot--"I missed the rest of that sentence. Not to mention that I can't see any of the red text clearly at all. Only by experience can I infer that that's probably the players' usernames. And hey look, it's that leaderboard again!
Suddenly, truck racing. LETHAL truck racing, at least to "Nitrogenius", whoever that is. Looks like Diddy Kong Racing, actually. Combined with some mechanics from somewhat-more-realistic racing games, such as when you crash into a wall, your vehicle flips over. And Nitrogenius gets it from this truck again.
...so what's the name of this game? "Give Nitrogenius a Bad Day"?
...
......yeah. I'm not sure getting kicked in the face is that good after all. It feels...surprisingly mediocre.
.
.
.
...wait, how many games did I just see again? Better yet, what exactly did I just watch? I'm not sure whether this or the current Republican presidential primary contest is less clear. Both seem to be extremely confusing.

I actually never bought more than 1 HIB and always beated the minimum price for the bonus games. Just wanted to point out that HIB offers a much better business than IFKB.
The funny thing is I would be still interested in this bundle for 8$, but after things that happened yesterday I finally decided to not buy it.
Comment has been collapsed.
I give them a chance, just as gave it to IR, IG and BM (even if I have no time to play last weeks).
8$ is and isn't much. It's definitely more than other bundles minimum, but it's still 1$ per game (I have 2 already, so for me it's 1.33$ per new game - still not much).
Comment has been collapsed.
i'll probably get it, but was hoping to get it for much less . . .
Comment has been collapsed.
I have Booster Trooper, PAM, Greed and Runespell, idk if I buy it :P
Comment has been collapsed.
i wanted to buy this, but $8 when i already have 2 of the games is more than i was hoping for. also i feel like they've seriously undercommunicated pretty much all the important details about this bundle. for example, we know they're taking preorders now, but when and how will people who preorder actually get the games? is it just a set price or do you have the option of paying more to really really support this bundle? what charity is it, exactly? sounds like charity: water but they didn't get that specific. does 20% of profits mean an undisclosed amount of an $8 preorder goes toward their costs and then 20% of what's left after that goes to charity? why would anyone want a t-shirt with their games? SO MANY QUESTIONS!
Comment has been collapsed.
indie royale does take preorders though, and they actually seem pretty good at doing bundles.
so i don't think indie face kick is fishy; i think they're just poor communicators. as an example, check out the grammar in this quote from the bundle page: “These hand-picked songs is yours to own, DRM-Free.”
Comment has been collapsed.
My opinion is that these guys are pure amateurs who are exploring territory that's completely new to them and was also not very well thought out. So... basically they have no idea what they're doing. It's probably not a scam since I don't know how they would be able to get away with pulling something this big.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's a pre-order - they don't need to give you anything yet. They also have your information from PayPal so you should get the games when the bundle goes live. HOWEVER, it's just not well-implemented. I haven't pre-ordered myself, but from the sounds of it they could benefit so much from a simple checkout + confirmation screen explaining what's happening instead of leaping right into PayPal and coming back with nothing after you've paid.
Comment has been collapsed.
that's exactly what I thought as well. just some more "what's going on" and a simple confirmation mail would've already done nicely... (actually pre-ordered myself)
anyway, probably not a scam, just someone having not much clue what they're actually doing imo
after all it's not even that surprising I think if you check other bundles.
HIB had a lot of experience with digital distribution from their previous games, indieroyale... well... it's run by desura, you definetely expect professionals there, even groupees had quite some experience already if you check their archive (despite having the servers stomped over this time xD), but for GATT it's pretty much a step into the unknown, so mistakes are expected - the way they're dealt with however... well, PR doesn't seem to be a priority shrugs
Comment has been collapsed.
that's the impression i get as well. i suspect they'll run into some sort of distribution trouble but will work it out eventually.
Comment has been collapsed.
a very good point. it's certainly odd to take preorders while completely unproven.

I have Runespell: Overture which is...Poker meets Puzzle Quest and I have played Still Life (not 2) which was a quite good adventure (from the same people who made Syberia I believe).I liked both of those, if they are your cup of tea you will spend quite some time with them.
Not sure on the rest.
Comment has been collapsed.
Still Life 2 according to about a hundred users is pure shit. Completely different from the first.

The problem with this price is that if you own some of them and not interested in some of them then it's not attractive. I already have Sol Survivor and Avencast, and the games I think could be interesting are Still Life and Runespell: Overture, but they're not worth $8 to me.
Comment has been collapsed.
The bundle organizers haven't done a good job on this one. I feel sorry for the devs who participated in this bundle, the bad PR the bundle organizers are getting is being associated with the games as well :(
I specifically don't like how they handled this, very unprofessional so I won't support this at all.
Comment has been collapsed.
Meridian4 published two or three games in the bundle, I checked that yesterday. Runespell for example is self-published, so I think they knew about it from the start.
