I just have to vent, I am trying to get a 20 dollar off code they gave me to work.
It's been going on for over a week now.
And I have had them offer me 20% off more than once.... and I have had to explain my issue atleast 3 times because they are not reading what I send them.

It's ridiculous how pathetic the CS is there, I knew it was bad.... but this is beyond what I thought.

my last message to them I demanded to Speak to an American Manager and to have steam codes given to me for all the games I have on their system so I can delete them and never have to deal with their CS again.

This has been the problem with them for ages. Most likely why they are constantly changing there name and trying to change there image.

it's amazing how a company can make so much money regardless of being functionally retarded. it just goes to prove AGAIN that popularity does not equal quality.

Activision Dethroned them. They're trying really hard to get that title back, though.

I actually JUST got done with there Support, which was pretty helpful. I got my Retail Version of BF2 Comlete Collection Activated on Origin, even though they didn't HAVE to.

I have to agree with you. I once went to them to tell me how can I delete The Sims Social from my FB account OR how to disable friends sending me requests. And they reply with "We are sorry for the problem with not being able to get requests from friends. But there is a way to solve that..."
I hate EA support so much...same goes with Steam Support -.-

I don't particularly like EA, but I have to say that every time I had to deal with their customer service they were curteous and quite helpful (of course I dealt with the German customer service, not the American one).

By the way (and you might already know that), your demand is ridiculous.

What this guy said.
The few times I've had to deal with EA/Origin support, they have been extremely helpful and courteous. I've gotten two free games on Origin without them even putting up a fight. I think their customer service is great from what I've experienced, and yes your demand is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read.

I've never had any problems with EA customer service, Steam, however, has the worst support of any organization on this planet.

In EA's case, I was getting a gift from a friend but he already used the cd-key. Origin support was able to transfer the game from his account to mine, which is awesome.

for Steam, it was an issue with the account. I had to wait a week for a reply, got a canned answer, and had to fix it myself.

I've chatted with steam support numerous times and they never really took more than 48 hours to reply. What was the issue if you dont mind me ask?

I dunno about EA support in your area, Russian Origin support is much worse than Steam's one.

Steam replies can take a while but their reply system is based on priority depending on the issue (which you select from the menus)... also steam does not have a dedicated chat support which does not help.

EA has the chat support (if you can find it.... it's not exactly advertised) and depending on what you need done they can be very good. However I have been locked in stalemate with them more than once. The most recent was for some reason my copy of BF 2142 did not transfer from EA downloads to Origin and was told they could not do anything about it apart from give me a discount on my next purchase so I was pretty peeved.

I think the reason for EA having such fast response time is that it is a dedicated games developer and distributor with a larger player base than steam with most of it's games being standalone disk sales meaning there is more scope for things to go wrong. With steam it can mainly be the users fault for fucking up the billing or not reading the small print saying that certain specs wont work with the game and that it is very simple to fix an issue with steam... just reinstall it.

Other than that both companies are terrible with lost account support. Steam requires tedious back and forth chats which mainly require you taking photos of game keys to prove who you are but EA is just dogged with their mantra towards lost account details "NO WE CANNOT HELP". Though steam is far better helping you retrieve a stolen account and reverse any charges.

I've gotten several $20 coupon codes from EA customer support and used them to buy several games; Dead Space, Mass Effect, Mirror's Edge, Bad Company 2, Dragon Age: Origins and a couple others. For the most part, they've been very easy to work with.

Well I do have to change my view on their support.... EA Phone support is good, but Email / chat support sucks.
I am now downloading Dragon Age 2, They gave it to me for all my problems....considering the coupons for $20 are not valid and the game is now 20.86.
