What i know is its kinda hard to have a flash kart for the 3ds with the constant updates and also early flash carts can only hold 1 game at a time , the one i used to use for the ds was edge but they stopped making those long ago.

The new gateway can hold more than one, and there's a clone that does the same.

That's a DS flashcart and can only play DS games.
Gateway 3DS and the MT-card are the only flashcarts that can play 3DS games but require you to be on firmware 4.0 to 4.5

Information on flash-cards.

  1. They are quoted as being used for homebrew applications on Nintendo devices.
  2. Few people buy them for that purpose.
  3. A person who owns such a device is less likely to legally obtain games for that handheld.
  4. Do the math.

How may we help you with your piracy today? <3

Best used for playing roms with a built in action replay function for purposes of doing a run through pokemon with the "make all wild encounters shiny" code on. They are nice because they do not stick out of the game card slot.

As far as piracy goes, just get roms of games that you already have and leave all legal matters of piracy and roms for another discussion board on another website.

If you are looking for a good DS flashcart, buy an Acekard 2i and load the newest version of AKAIO on it.

while this maybe true i can play GBA games with DStwo on my 3DSXL. If it wasn't for that card the only way to play my games would be to get back to GBA. Perhaps i'm spoiled by PC gaming but i feel that when i buy i game i "own" it and can play it on whatever platform it's available. If nitendo doesn't give me that choise then i go pirate.
Same thing with wii, i would love to buy G generation gundam for my WII but there's region lock so i had to pirate the game...
I agree these cards allow for easy piracy but if it weren't for them i would never ever bough the console

I had a DS flash cart purely for playing Metal Slug 3 and King of Fighters on the DS (both games I own on multiple systems). Shame I no longer have my Lite, my 2DS obviously won't accept it.

I have to recommend DStwo. Not only allows homebrew but also playing with SNES and GBA roms. While these roms are emulated the few games i tryed worked either okay or similar to the original.
some cool homebrew-> lone wolf book series, programs that allow you to read comics, etc
