i thought you had to have bought a bundle beforehand to be able to get happy hour benefits? Like buy a bundle now, then when happy hour starts, buy it again to get the benefits?

Yep. The reason why I always vote yes on these marginal bundles is because the group buy price is so cheap. Nobody should be paying the listed price for these. Almost all of the Indie Gala bundles have happy hours, except for the Monday bundles, and even there you can save a few cents by buying a pack of 5 and splitting it.

IndieGala has been missing the target for me a lot lately. This comes after buying the majority of the Monday bundles for a year or so. Now Greenlights are covered by Groupees, decent games are in Humble bundles... not sure about IG anymore.

EDIT: I did buy this Monday's bundle as well but none of the other FIVE they have ongoing. Maybe they're just flooding the market.

I agree! I find that indiegala has a lot of... Well, indie games and rpg maker-ish games. It's quite the mixed bag though honestly. I also buy a lot from Bundle stars. There's plenty of other sites too like you said... Groupees and humble bundle and some lesser known like flyingbundle and lazyguys and itch.io and... Others I can't think of off the top of my head

The main advantage that Indie Gala has now are the Happy Hours, which makes most full bundles only cost $1.00 via a Group Buy.
