Oh, I'm an idiot then. I somehow completely missed the "morse code" part when reading the blurb and after seeing all the rest of the text being in Japanese I skipped to the reviews, I'm too used to extracting info about these weird free games from reviews and ignoring the descriptions.

The game's title is something like "Express love using Morse code", so I suspect the dev and their object of infatuation lived on separate islands or something. And once they learnt the Morse code, they thought they might as well make a game about it.

I think it was April Fool's Day a long time ago, but Google's Japanese branch once made a joke application called "Google Morse Input," so they must have made a game out of it or something. (This is just my guess.)
