I have a really old account with Blacks ops and Modern Warfare 2 on... problem is that the account is hacked and stolen... which is a shame... i do want it back but the have bough games to the account... so question is

If i send in the code to get the account back... and i get the code thingy then he can't login but he uses his codes to get back the account... is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

So, he stole your account and registered his own games to it?
When you send in your keys, tell support about it, and they might help you.

Well the problem is that support mostly answer with a copy paste... for the most what i have seen :/ but i will try that

EDIT 1: And yes he registred his own games on that account

Why would you want a second account, sounds troublesome, would be much better to just rebuy those games on your new account in my opinion.

And waste another $40-120? Most gamers are apparently on a tight budget as it is without rebuying old games.

Maybe he suddenly became a 12 y/o so he wants to play COD.

...3 YEARS ago? and you're just doing something about it now?

3 years and you never reported it stolen and he has since used that account to purchase games? Are you sure you didn't sell this account 3 years ago and just miss the games or something, why else would you wait so long? lol

just the annoyance of having it stolen should have merited a single email to support even if you hadn't bothered to follow up on it at the time. Unfortunately that might make it harder to get back now

If you can prove you own the older game in the account you can prove you are the original owner.

If you have a retail copy of one of those games, contact steam support, and mention exactly that The account was stolen some time ago, and the person who stole it already activated other games in that account. If they give you your account back, probably they'll delete the other games from that account. If they don't give you the account back, ask if you can retrieve those games to your current account.

You mean that they can transfear over Cod BO1 and MW2 over to the account i'm currently using?

I've never seen them do it, but since the burglar already activated games in that account, I don't know if they'll give it back to you. So, if they don't, there's no risk in asking for it.

And shame on you for clicking where you shouldn't.

If you purchased the games in retail no more than 90 days ago, yes. Else nope! They will give you your original back no matter when you purchased the game if you still have the original box with the CD key sticke in it.

Then you're out of luck for the transfer of licenses to this account mate. Try to get your old account back then if you still have the box ;)

They won't switch games between accounts, don't bother.

I don't know if this is relevant, but anyway : one of my components (the gpu I guess) came with this Colin McRae Rally Dirt game which was already activated on steam by someone else. I contacted both steam support (with pictures and pdf bill copy) and the shop I bought the component from about the issue and in about 10 days the game appeared in my steam account.

Hmm, I guess it is relevant, I'm wondering if guy that had it got game removed? I guess you don't know, since support doesn't say anything.

I bet you can wait 2-3 more years before contacting steam.

How come almost everyone have an old "hacked" account on Steam? Some hacker wouldn't just pick your account because you have 5 games on it, so it is mostly a consequence of people giving their password to someone else, entering on scam website, etc. (rarely keylogger). I wouldn't really count those under "hacked" because it's kind of your fault. Beside that people just seem to have made new accounts and didn't try to reclaim old ones or what?

I pray for you to Steam God, and sacrifice some games playing them
