What do you mean by "expected wins"?

If you want to calculate your expectation to win on a particular give away, you have to calculate it on real time (which are not feasible) because people can pop in and pop out from give away at any time, changing your expectation to win on the fly. Weekly or even monthly updates are not possible, because most GA are done in a few days, some even goes for only couple of hours, only a scant few ran for some weeks. It is also worth pointing out that maximum duration for GA is 30 days.

i second the idea. would be nice to see a rough estimate as to how many games should've been won. albeit it will definitely lead to moaning by "less fortunate" people but hey, who gives a flippin' fick, innit?

More a thing of being less useful and leading to more whining forum threads. Seems more trouble than it's worth. While I'd not mind having it as I like statistics, I would also much more want to have the game stats and global wishlist/ownership pages from SG1 back.

I love statistics, so I liked and really miss this feature.. a return in any way would be very nice, even monthly updates would suffice.

Instead of having this stat displayed I'd prefer to just get a bump of all data about me, like all the GAs I entered, created, ... in some nice downloadable format so that I could just generate those stats myself whenever I feel like :-D Could answer this question, and questions like "what game have I tried hardest to win" etc :-)

I'd rather not. While it was an interesting trivia for those who understands a bit of statistics, it was just another continous wave of threads from new users.
I would be in favor only if it was somehow "hidden". :D

Unnecessary and not urgent at all.... But I liked this feature too. If it could come back, it would add $0.01 of happiness to me.

My "statistically unlucky" group was based off that number. When it disappeared, the group faded too

If you enter the public giveaways, "the expected wins" doesn't show a precise number until it gets near the end when they will gather entries at the front page.
I believe most people enter public giveaways (considering entry numbers) so it doesn't do good for majority of users.

I thought it was pretty cool when it was in action, but to be honest I had completely forgotten about it, I don't really think we need that feature, as others have said it will just make ppl complain about how much they should have won.

Just add a static text: "Estimated Wins: 0"

I'm sure somebody made a script for this once. Think I know who it was too but won't say in case I'm completely wrong. Going to look for it.

Useless load on the server, even if it were re-coded to be less intrusive. There are much more useful things that could be done with those compute cycles.
