Hi. I remember reading about this question before, but forgot how to properly manage the situation.

So I made a private giveaway, a dude won. Added him to Steam, but we never managed to actually talk, because we were online at different time. I left an offline message informing him that he won, and I will give him the key when we'll both be online, for my piece of mind.

Thing is, the giveaway ended 6 days ago, he's suspended on SG, so even if I give him the key, he won't be able to mark as received as far as I understand.

Therefore, what should I do? Wait until tomorrow and ask for a re-roll? Is there another solution that I am not aware of?

I am a bit reluctant to just drop the key in the offline chat, seeing as he's suspended on SG, he has a number of deleted giveaways and a 75% positive feedback on SG.

Thank you for your patience and help :)

Afaik, you can request a re-roll if the winner of your GA is suspended (needs citation).

To be on the safe side, you could create a support ticket, explain the situation (or link this thread) and ask if you should/can request a re-roll.

I don't think you have to worry about that person marking it as not received since s/he won't be on SteamGifts for a bit. I think you should be okay. Don't hold me to that though.

winner is suspended = reroll giveaway for new winner

The "request new winner" link is next to the original winner's email address on your created giveaways page. Just click that link, tell them that the user that won is suspended, and they will "reroll" the gieaway and one of the other users that entered the giveaway will be the new winner.

I liked the idea of contacting support. That's always safe.

As far as the rules go, however, you have contacted the winner, and the winner has not responded. After seven days of no response, you may request a re-roll. As far as I know, there is nothing in the rules about a winner being exempted from the time requirement, regardless of the reason. I once had to re-roll because the winner simply never logged back onto Steam for over a week.
