I Would suggest you NOT enter a giveaway for a game you'll never play , there are other people who need it and would be so UNFAIR for them if the game is given to someone WHO doesn't like it
Also you say you use TORRENT , so you are a PIRATE aswell , get outta this place , people like you make me sick

Very much this...
Entering giveaways for the sake of it sucks liquefied dog turds through a curly novelty straw...

Have you ever considered that there are countries in the world where people take in a month the money you take in a day?
Isn't life already unfair for them? Or you don't care?
If you wish to help him stop pirating games, why don't you donate him one?

Well, those are just the ones on Steam. There are plenty of F2P games out there.
The Free Bundle tried to bring some attention so some hidden gems, but they've stopped some months ago.
And everyone's taste is different. I currently enjoy Clicker games and they are F2P, too. Years ago I was wasting lots and lots of hours in LoL and had fun.
IMHO; no-one should feel entitled to AAA games.
I can't afford a Ferrari either and you don't see me begging for one or stealing one.
(Inb4: Yadda yadda yadda, electronical goods aren't comparable to normal goods )

I agree that Steam's F2P collection is bad and there are too many freemium games out there.
I also agree that you can find some gems on kongregate or other flash-game sites.
If you have a smart phone, there's also Amazon's App of the Day deal, which in most cases is a game.

Or, hell, the 1 USD part of Humble Mobile Bundle. If you like to play on a tiny-tiny screen that is barely larger than an old GameBoy's, yet they want to cram 10× more information on it.
I'm not a hypocrite, I cannot condemn piracy since I couldn't tell more than 3 AAA games in my combined digital libraries which I didn't play through at least once on a pirated version. (Demos are either non-existent or quite misleading nowadays…) But I also know that if you just want playable quality games, the 1-2 USD bundles eventually are a good source.

I fully agree, the sense of entitlement I've seen from some of this people on this site is astounding. I played runescape f2p for probably 5 years when I was a kid, the first two of those were exclusively at friends' homes as I didn't have an Internet connection at first.

That Analogy is pretty stupid, not many people can afford a Ferrari. Lets say the average cost of a low tier Ferrari is $188,425 which divided 60= 3140 AAA newly released games(excluding the pre order/bonuses), the average person could afford a 60$ game to give away but not spend $188,425 on a car to give it away.
AAA games are the cream of the crop so most people would wish for them, however I do agree with you in your stance on begging.
Lets just say a lot of people need a lot of stuff and if you allow begging you're creating a platform for them to beg, there'll be a lot of spam due to begging, entering giveaways gives everyone an equal chance of winning the game so yeh; the current system is good imo.

Well, a day may be a little too much around here in that comparisaon, but yes… for us the average income for the upper middle class is around 7000-7500 USD. Per year. And games cost about 50 USD for PC, 85 USD for peasant systems.
So… it's either digital distribution and waiting for huge sales or torrent next to the 3-4 legal disc versions yearly.

If you can afford luxury goods like PCs, Internet access and videogames you aren't poor. Poor people die from starvation.
You can play videogames as long as you can afford them. If you can afford them you aren't poor. If you aren't poor and still beg for games on steamgifts, you are the scum of the earth. If you beg for games on steamgifts, regardless if you are poor or not, you are the scum of the earth. But there aren't poor people on steamgifts, period. If you were poor you wouldn't be posting in the first place

New AAA title is 1/10 of my monthly salary - and gues what? I do not pirate games. Actually I have shitload of games in my steam library - thanks to bundles/steam sales/this site ofc.
Another think is where such person will be plaing this games? On stolen PC? Or maybe because somebody donated PC (PC that is able to run BF3) to him.
Also OP didn't mentioned that he is from third country xD

You've hit the nail on the head, sir.
EVERYONE should enter giveaways for games they don't want. I am literally dry-heaving at the thought that anyone would disagree with this basic commonsense idea.
Fuck every last one of those bleeding-heart pinko communists trying to tell us what we should and shouldn't do.
Brofist...

Ummm I was aiming at the fact that he said people who pirate make him sick. I pirate myself but whenever I have money I buy the games I'm pirating. It's no reason to make someone feel sick, unless of course you have the money and still chooses to pirate, which is not what everyone does.

Lol. Its just that I remembered his name ( I think he is the only one with Gagarin name and photo in his ID ). I remember face palming when I read that post. So when I recognized him again , I was like " Really ?! are you a masochist or something ? " . Pretty sure that a lot of people are going to blacklist him for this. To be honest I feel bad for him, its kinda like he doesn't understand what he is doing wrong. Maybe he doesn't understand English?

I usually spend them to random games, even dont read what exactly game i chooose. there a lot of people here who win a lot of games and dont even run them - i m one of them
Well that's not selfish at all. Expect to get blacklisted a lot for this.

You people need a chill pill. He has a point. SOME people really do want a game whereas a majority only want it to display as a trophy case in their games list-- which I have no problem with. It is kind of sad but oh well. Some day I will destroy you all and we can have a happily ever after. YAY.

maybe there r must be some option for gw creators: enter only with wishlist or everyone?
i have idea, but i cant explain it correctly
Comment has been collapsed.
its probably not that hard to wishlist every game on steam
Comment has been collapsed.
There are scripts that let you wishlist all games. That's usually the reason why this option is not considered useful. It has been suggested to only consider only the part of the wishlist for those purposes.

Forcing people to only enter wishlisted games would result in the majority of greedy idiots just wishlisting any old stuff, regardless of whether they wanted to play the games.
Too many people just blindly enter giveaways with no intention to play the games. A few even have the abhorrently bad manners to loudly complain about the games they HAVE won, and that they didn't even want them.
The current rules prevent the forums becoming a cess pit of begging and protect against the harrassment of users (particularly the site's more generous ones). To open the floodgates would be the death of the community.

i have time to read before u delete, hahahaha, i play 2 of them

Clocking up 0.1 hours in total on three of your four wins is hardly that impressive.
It seems a bit rich to be complaining about others doing the same.
Comment has been collapsed.
a year in. 4 games won that you say you haven't played. so why enter?!
there are tons of GA here. some AAA games. join groups, be more active, lurk the forums and you can win more.
Some GA are for higher lvls. give something and you get "better" chances.

+1
And don't make excuses that you can't afford it. Even if you can't find a job you can always blow some fat old guy for money.

U think all the people in this world have money and can afford everything? Think again...not all people got money for games, good computers. Maybe they have other priorities then buying games etc...but begging is not good.
Comment has been collapsed.
The typical thing what happens if you want a game but can't afford it you eighter borrow it from your friends or just plain download it (spell: pirate it).
Now in the steam age (phun intended) the borrowing part is just more or less dried out now. As intended by the publishers. Guess what happens ;)
That always happens if there is a market with 2 sources of a good - one being at near-zero / minimal cost.

Ugh. I sometimes feel guilty for my almost 20% ratio of unplayed and almost 30% of unfinished games on Steam and essentially put a stop on my purchases (unless it's something in a bundle AND can be finished in two afternoons) before I finish at least the large ones properly.
And here you are, stating you just blindly enter for raffles for stuff you don't want and don't even intend to play.
Forget begging. I can handle begging. Gods know, since I started dumping bundle games on this site, I had to endure some of it and it rarely bothered me.
But this pointless hoarding…
I don't use the blacklist. I don't intend to. But times like this I am somewhat tempted, to be honest.

My wishlist shrunk by one yesterday with 1954 Alcatraz going on sale at Gamersgate for 90% off, woohoo!
But I don't see this place as an answer to wishlist prayers, or use it as such. I just enter the games that look interesting. There is no compulsory order to use all 300 points each day, after all.

w8 wut?
By admitting you are a fucking thief (aka torrents user) you just lowered your chances to win something - because you will be added to many blacklists :)

A topic for begging? It would be conveinent, but with this we would need to increase blacklist limits.

maybe create some topic with people who rly love some game and rly want it? (i m not bagging, i usually use torrent, and still playing BF3)
