yeah. I wish SG would just let me make that a simple requirement when setting up giveaways (similar to level), but I guess whitelist is how it has to be gone about.

I took that photo before listing the guitar for sale on ebay. Cool looking guitar, but didn't play very well. ;-)

i hate it when this happens :/ You buy a cool looking guitar but can't play it well because something doesn't fit :D

It's funny, but I've bought and sold lots of guitars, but my current favorite is a little cheap yamaha, and has been for a long time. In general I love the feel of Japanese guitars. Had several from the old Matsumoku plant and liked most of them too.

Yeah, I'm more of single coil guy now. I like the HSS pickup setup best for the chimier tones. I used to play the dual humbuckers when I was younger (I was into 80s hairbands!), but dual humbuckers just sound so "dark" and lifeless to me now compared to single coil stuff. The HSS lets me switch to bridge humbucker to get the rock tone when I need it, but the single coil options give lots more tonal variety for everything else.

I live in Nashville (where they make the Gibsons) and heard some guys talking about certain models that had a certain sound. Said they really don't know why some of them sound the way they do. Difficult to recreate the combination of factors that created the sounds that certain years had. I think alot of it is more myth than reality, because personally some of my favorite guitars have been cheapies with a cool grit to them, but there's probably something to it. I think part of it might be that the pickups are often more overwound now than they used to be and that kills alot of the sound. All imho - but just a guess based on various guitars I've played. I really don't know though. It's almost like you've gotta just swap parts and try different guitars just to see how they sound, because it's often difficult to predict in advance.

By the way. My favorite HH that I've played was an old univox. Actually had a slight crack in the body where the neck was. It wasn't a shredder (had a nearly flat neck if I recall), but it had such a cool vibe about it. Gritty is the word I'd use - you know that kind of sound that makes you make a "face" while you're playing? I'm not sure of this, but I heard people say Kurt Kobain played one on one of his albums. I think I had just loaded it with some generic pickups that I liked the sound of, but it had such a cool vibe. I almost kept that one, but ended up selling that one because it was selling for so much on ebay.

Hi all, I'm building my whitelist as I go through as I enter giveaways, but I'm new, so it takes a while (only up to 170 or so now), so I thought I'd post here to get some more ids.
What I'm looking for for my whitelist (pretty simple):
OR
That's all I'm really looking for - a ratio of 50%. (I guess minimum of at least 5-10 giveaways or so also).
I'm gradually going through my extra keys and once I get a big enough whitelist want to setup some whitelist giveaways for folks who contribute most heavily to the ecosystem here.
Anyhow, post if your giveaway to win ratio is at least 50%, and I'll check you out. Thanks,
