The responses for "Why do you play video games?" are really limited. For instance, I play them because I simply like to experience stories in any format, and I think games are a completely unique medium for creating art. That's not precisely covered by "I want to relax, have fun, or play with friends."

Just completed the survey. While I'll admit I have some aspects which are part of addictive behavior, I don't believe is as extreme to consider that I have an addiction... At the very least, I want to believe is not extreme... XD

I have video game addiction.
i delete my characters on game MMORPG to regret why i addicted to games. But after that, i still play another games like fps, action games, mobile games, etc, and i delete my characters again after playing for a year. Thats make me sad, but i should keep away from game to my better future.

I spent 35hours weekly to play games, and after years i delete my character my accounts my ID :(
ahahaha what a shame, i'm wasting my times to play and regret it.
But at least i purchase some books or upgrade my bike to switch my hobby..

Completed your survey, I think it's necessary to study this question since some people may be very vulnerable to gaming addiction, especially in online games which I don't like atm

Completed it. I have little social life and got nothing better to do so I just play games. But right now, I feel like I'm having less fun than when I started. Way less fun

I did your survey. I'm from America. I'm also feeling that I'm in the older and more stable demographic, so I'm pretty unlikely to develop or have a gaming addiction.

I finished the survey. However, I filled the survey with my current opinion/relationship with video game, which is very different from some years ago when I was actually suffering from video game addiction.

Maybe you should also put a question about what kind of gamer somebody is. As an example I sometimes game 20-30 hours during a weekend and then don't game for 3 months. Answering your questionnaire would make me a problematic gamer, unless you factor in the type of gamer I am.
Gaming addiction does exist. I knew a guy from work, who lost his girlfriend and later on his job because of online games (fortnite and overwatch).
Technology addiction is as real as it gets. Just observe the younger generations in public or even interact with them :)
