Can someone please explain to me what exactly Operation Payback is for CS:GO?
It's available until July 31st, so I was wondering if it is worth buying.

What does it do?
What happens after July 31st?

Help?

CS:Go Operation PayBack it's a set of maps. One of my friend buy it. If you want to play on that maps, your friend can infite you. You don't need to buy it, just if you want. :D

basically what he said...but actually it's only needed if you want to join the Valve dedicated servers with these community made maps, other dedicated servers will have these maps after July 31st too. (They will disappear from the Valve servers)

At least as I know, maybe I'm wrong.

You basically donate money to the developers of some of the more popular maps, then you get the right to play the maps on the official servers. The big thing people were getting, from spending the money, was a coin, which would turn to silver if you played 10 hours of it and gold at 50 hours.

At this point, unless they extend it or it somehow counts time after the deadline, purchasing it would be a waste. I got mine right when it started and labored through 50 hours to get my coin. I wasn't that into it or the maps. I'm not sure how to coin will be handled after July 31st.

Well after the 31st, the coin is no longer available for people to unlock because the pass is no longer available. They haven't stated what they're going to do with the maps though. Maybe integrate them into the normal playlists.

Basically, If you want a coin now, buy the pass :P
